Without question one of the best channels on YT and being an old home garage gear-head guy. The engine power-train and panel & chassis fabrication episodes are my favorite.
Working on the track was fascinating to me. I spent over a decade working with the M1/M1A1 Abrams track .. and whatever version was really, really heavy which means watching this "cute" track being manhandled made me smile in appreciation.
Its very enjoyable to see how pile of parts changing into piece of living history, moving on own power in bonus. Thank's for giving us closer look of Yours hard work, stay safe and bring more fantastic restoration in future!
My colleague visited your museum last week (we are in Perth on the other side of the country, but he was visiting Cairns). He knew I watched these videos and I really want to see the museum in person. He bought me one of those water bottles that look like a tank shell from your souvenir store. It's awesome! I've been taking it to the gym and getting a few weird looks. He snapped a photo of Jason working at the front desk too (he took the photo because the desk is shaped like a tank).
All I can say my poor back. Great work boys. It has been a wonderful journey watching you restore that Panzer with the confidence that you all show in your mechanical and metal skills/abilities. Awesome!!!
Brings a whole new meaning to "defensive driving". Maybe the Museum could get some bumper stickers made up; along those lines: "Drive defensively: Buy a TANK". Or something
Saw the tank drive for the first time in however many years, cheered out loud, woke the wife up. Now she's mad, but she doesn't understand it's a running Panzer I. Job WELL done, gents.
She just doesn't understand it's the only running PzKw1 in the WORLD! I don't think Munster or Bobbington's even start let alone, run around the course.
Workshop Wednesday, the ultimate drug, & I am completely hooked! I always want more! My career in the Australian Army was always attached to Armoured Corps, & I loved my job... So, now, I live my life vicariously through the Australian Armour & Artillery Museum TH-cam channel, & their fantastically talented & dedicated staff. Jealous? Not much! Were I younger, I would camp on their doorstep, until they got so sick of me, I would be accepted as a volunteer, to add my skills to the pool of talented tradies who work at the best job I could imagine... Anyway, enough of my daydreaming, & thanks to the Australian Armour & Artillery Museum for feeding this wonderful addiction!!😂
Hey Kurt! Loved the camera angle you put in at 19:26. Really goes to show the interesting and unique viewpoint that many of us will never get to see. It also speaks volumes about the time, effort, and dedication that you go to showcase the talents of these remarkable men doing such wonderful preservation work. It also brings to life what the actual armoured crewmen of these tanks, would've gone through in the everyday drudgery of maintenance and repair back in WW2. Keep up the absolutely brilliant work! Cheers from Canada!
Nope. Actually there's 97 track links per side! - If my 1/16 scale model panzer IB is correct! I just finished the tracks the other day! 776 parts in the 2 sides in fact! It took me nearly 2 weeks to make them up with metal pins, but now they're finished they work beautifully! Working on return rollers & a paint mask for them too! Nearly forgot! I made up a paint mask for the 10 road wheels, but luckily there's plenty of room for 8 return rollers too! I'll probly sell the mask for $25 or $30 on flea bay to the next builder when I'm done with it! Great video fellas! Thank You!
You guys are doing so great with the videos, been watching from near the beginning, nice work Kurt and all those of Aus Armor, hope you have a good fest this weekend.
I love showing these videos to my mom, she's not a tank nut like I am but she loves heavy machinery and mechanic work so videos like these are a common ground for us
Interesting how the track was placed. The Aus Armour team had a concrete floor - think how the same operation would have been carried out, in a paddock (wet, muddy) side of a road (dusty), in the rain. From what I have read of German Panzer crews completing this operation - no different to what Aus Armour has shown, only the terrain was different.
Beautiful work. The scale of the Panzer 1 compared to some of the other restorations is kind of cool. It's very relatable seeing it scoot around under its own power.
Simply fabulous. It looks like a huge RC model on the move. What a great result. Looking forward to Workshop Thursday and the final pictures before the weekend.
I couldn't help but think about The Chieftain licking his lips in anticipation of reviewing the track tensioning system of the PZ I. He's probably already packing his bags.
I picked up scale model building again after a multi decade pause. It's really interesting following your projects as you really dig in to details and let us viewers get some understanding of how things look and their function. 👍
You need a guy on the inside of the track holding a sledge up against it, got to "back up" the link solidly as you whack at the pin. And I would have never seized all those pins. Great job on this priceless relic boys. Soooo cooool.
Such a small vehicle! But then it's basically a mobile machine gun nest, with armor only meant to stop shrapnel and rifle-caliber bullets. Beautiful job, guys!
Question / suggestion.... for smthg like track links. why don't you put them in an electrolysis bath to take all the rust off, then heat them and oil quench to Hot Blue them..?? or have them plated.
So satisfying, watching those track link pins go in… Reminds me of something else, but I can’t think what! You guys are true craftsman… Beautiful work!
God Bless you all for saving History 🙏 Thank you folks from Virginia USA 🇺🇸
Good to see the project on track
lmao
Wheelie good pun
i see what you did there.
Here's your coat........😂
Tanks for the laugh
Es ist schön zu sehen, das alte Deutsche Militärtechnik wieder zu ihren alten Glanz zurückkehren. Good job!
Just watched 20min video of track fitting. Time well spent!
Now you know how to do it when you restore a tanklet.
@@davidshanahan5134 Ha, must get on. I`m gettin the look from the neighbours.
Watching Workshop Wednesday is always time well spent. 😁
Yes, indeed I wish this show was two hours long 👍
Actually doing it for real is strangely therapeutic.
Great to see the lil panzer running and OMG Workshop Thursday tomorrow
Trackday Thursdays? Replacing tracks or just taking vehicles for a spin.
Bet the old girls happy to be reborn again, great job guys, as always.🇦🇺👍
Fantastic! Looks a bit like an unpainted Matchbox kit with the bright two tone colouring!
Once again, ingenuity and practical skills making a seemingly impossible project look easy. Well done gentlemen.
Definitely the best job in the world.
Agreed, this would be my dream job.

just see the l3/33
Like heavy-duty motorcycle chains for tracks, could stick em in your pocket and walk around comfortably.
Test drive Thursday , sounds like a good thing.
Haha yes
He now drives for the Aus armour museum. All we know, he`s called the Stug!
It is nice seeing the baby going for A walk and some fresh air.
Wow! Congratulations, guys! Thanks for the extra effort, Kirt.
Its very enjoyable to see how pile of parts changing into piece of living history, moving on own power in bonus. Thank's for giving us closer look of Yours hard work, stay safe and bring more fantastic restoration in future!
Yippee a bonus episode 😊can’t wait. The Panzer 1 is looking awesome

Glad to watch from America 🇺🇸
Glad to watch from Malta Europe.
Glad to watch from the Philippines.
Incredible work mates! That looks like a million bucks with the new paint job. You'll be the envy of museums round the globe with this beauty!
Workshop Wednesday , excellent
That is the perfect sized tank for these modern roads, with no issue finding a parking spot! I wants one.
Perfect sized tank for everybody's garage. And the UK "Abbot" 105mm is the perfect sized SP Gun for everybody's garage.
Brings a whole new meaning to "defensive driving".
Maybe the Museum could get some bumper stickers made up; along those lines:
"Drive defensively: Buy a TANK".
Or something
Track bashing is always fun. Good job guys

Wednesdays are best enjoyed in the workshop, love seeing all of the projects and maintenance you do!
Still the best day of the week!
18:16 is a master class in editing timing...Well done to the editor 🙂

How cute, just the perfect size to have in the backyard shed, pity there weren't a few more about.
The fastest 20 minutes on TH-cam!
Can't wait to see it trundle around the track this weekend....STOKED!!!!
Looks awesome. In paint.
Guys cracked it once again
Kurt. Your old fella is a wizard. Could be called. A National treasure. 😂

The guys have done a fantastic job to get it to this point from just the tub I remember seeing last year
And look at it now running and driving 👍👍👍
Fantastic work, the lads have excelled themselves.
It`s so great to see the Pz 1 coming together so well, it`s a great idea going hydrostatic for the drives.
Thank God it's Wednesday!
Arh 2 episodes in one week, twice as happy, 😊, great looking tank , well done!

Congrats to the team, must be quite a feeling of achievement getting it moving.
Such a beauty. You did a great job on that tank. Can't wait to see the rest tomorrow. 👍😀
The best collection in the southern hemisphere :D
Great Channel- Look forward to it each week!
I love showing these videos to my mom, she's not a tank nut like I am but she loves heavy machinery and mechanic work so videos like these are a common ground for us
Fantastic job Darrell and Jess! You guys have killed it the past year.

Wow! The dummy MG seemed to take as much work as the tracks! Good on you all!
If I ever make it to Oz, the museum will be at the top of my visit list.
I'm continuously astounding at the skill involved in restoring these old vehicles. Great work guys.
Ooo this is exciting! The only running Panzer I in the world is almost done!
Hands down the most entertaining fabrication show on the interwebs.
Aw, loved the iron oxide and black camo paint job! Great for going unseen when infiltrating surrealist armoured columns! 🤣😁
Amazing work by Daryl and Jesse! Well done guys.
Beautiful work. The scale of the Panzer 1 compared to some of the other restorations is kind of cool. It's very relatable seeing it scoot around under its own power.
Wow, she came out awesome. What a great job making the old tank into a rolling showpiece.

I couldn't help but think about The Chieftain licking his lips in anticipation of reviewing the track tensioning system of the PZ I.
He's probably already packing his bags.

Woohoo, it's a bonus week🤩
great job as usual and on such a rare tank.

Great job on this priceless relic boys. Soooo cooool.
Can't wait for tomorrow 😊
Cute Little Tank! Great Job! Needs a skull on the front and flames on the sides! 😂
Bloody brilliant. Nice job!
Such a small vehicle! But then it's basically a mobile machine gun nest, with armor only meant to stop shrapnel and rifle-caliber bullets. Beautiful job, guys!
Out of all the restorations this is my favourite! Can we have a video of the origins of the original bits that went into building it.
Very cool and creative
Question / suggestion.... for smthg like track links. why don't you put them in an electrolysis bath to take all the rust off, then heat them and oil quench to Hot Blue them..?? or have them plated.
This is great content. I love watching the creation/restoration of these vehicles. One day I would love to come and volunteer.
What fantastic work! The boys really did a great job! Love seeing them fabricate that machine gun.
Awesome job guys! And bonus Trackday Thursday to come!
Looks like it's coming along well 😊
