      @@benhall2235 No you are correct. Im not familiar with his comedy at all, as he is so obscure and not heavily promoted. But I am sure if he did have a high profile, for example if he were to be given regular opinion pieces in a national newspaper and have his books on prominent display for sale in branches of WH Smiths at Airports, or piled up in the reduced section of soon to be going out of business CD/DVD/Book establishments in London, then, I would still not have the highly developed wit to understand his humour, which is in no way similar at all to the Russell Brand formula of `famous bloke standing on a stage talking and referring to stuff he had said a few minutes earlier.` (thereby making it cleverer and thought out).But I am a highly conditioned white working class male and my entire day consists of aggressively walking around my flat, alone, talking to myself. A little bit like Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast, but less fit. Basically an unemployed Phil Mitchell. But you already knew that didn't you..

    • @charlespell7762
      @charlespell7762 4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I think your confusion here can be easily explained once you consider the fact that a photograph is a visual representation of a moment in time. Now the notes being played at any given moment of time in the photo are represented by two seperate probability distributions. I think what has happened is, by mere fluke, the photographer has managed to capture a more unlikely event from the aforementioned distribution describing the moment in time that corresponds to a part of the combined probability curve that would represent a value of close to zero (very unlikely).

    • @TheTonyLazarus
      @TheTonyLazarus ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@charlespell7762 I respect your logic. But for the kitten to play the treble part and the dog to play the bass line would be nigh-on impossible given their relative physical positioning. Yes, what you say could be correct but it would be unprofessional at best, musically incompetent at worst.

  • @TheFubarProletariat
    @TheFubarProletariat 9 ปีที่แล้ว +44

    This is ridiculous, animals can't even interpret the sounds of music into any from, free or structured, at best they may hear it as some sort of distress call. So taking that into account it seems highly unlikely that a dog and a cat would be able to operate under any recognised jazz format. Further than that, they wouldn't be able to work within this interspecies human based band format let alone sack a band member. It's just fantastical.

    • @budbin
      @budbin 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not only that, but a dog and a kitten, being members of two completely disparate species, clearly wouldn't be able to produce offspring of any kind. And the idea of there being a half-dog, half-worm creature is absurd for the same reason, though even more so, as the genetic disparity is even more apparent here.

      I will have you know that my beloved Patterdale terrier Bryn was a great singer. In his black coat and white shirt and socks he was a dapper crooner, particularly drawn to Sinatra songs, which he would sing with gusto; his favourite was You Make Me Feel So Young.

    • @techcheck5019
      @techcheck5019 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually dogs can hear music sorry, they aren't sure what it's meant to be exactly. But it has been shown that certain music is relaxing to them, some even like to fall asleep on the couch while the TV is going (they are very similar to people).
      Sorry if you can't accept that, I am not saying a dog can reproduce music as not even a 4 year old human can't usually produce anything that sounds deliberate. But they certainly can hear and are affected by it and not stressed by it, sorry. Just the same as in babies certain melodies will relax them, even though they can't even talk yet and probably don't even understand what music is meant to be.

    I'm not sure if any of this is true because I've got a cat and two dogs and they show no signs of musical ability.
    And they certainly never use foul language... well not often anyway.

    stewart lee obiously doesn't know anything about pianos. the low notes on the piano are on the left and high ones on the right so actually it is the kitten who would be playing the bass melody not the dog
