Sure, edit the parameter and add the other options. Then go to the IF-THEN statement and all the new options. One option will be [Sales] and another will be -[Sales] (with a minus sign). The minus sign is the key to getting the list to sort ascending or descending.
Hi team, i used the same sorting method but it's not reflecting when I worked on sales and profit. Help me wt further I can do. I'm using 2019.4.version
I'm not sure I understand your question. You will only be able to sort by the calculated sorting field you created. Can you give an example of what you're trying to do?
@@ajitkumarsahoo8859 Let me see if I understand you correctly. Ou are using a parameter to create a sorting field, so you can sort by dollars, or quantity, or so other measure. Do you want to sort by something other than a number? High, medium, or low for example? Try searching my channel for sorting by different data types. If you want to sort dollars by ascending and quantity by descending, the put a negative sign in front of the value in your calculated sorting field. Let me know if that helps.
@@WestonPalmer yes I want to sort using dynamic parameter. But in my view I have multiple table calculated field. Can not use negative sign. Is there any way to sort my chart by all these fields?
This sounds like a candidate for my Patreon page. Send me some example data and I will try to put something together. If I can, I'll create a video and let my Patreon supporters have early access to the video.
This video saved my life!!! An awesome video....you earned yourself a subscriber!!!!

Awesome video!! This was the question asked to me in an interview 2 days back & I couldn't answer it :(
Thanks for the comment. Sorry you didn't find the video sooner. I really like this technique and use it quite a bit.
Amazing work
Thanks a lot 😊
Hi thanks for the video, is there a way to chose 6 options for example sales ascending, sales decending etc for the other 2? Thank you

Can we do custom sorting on table calculated measures using dynamic parameter.
