TOP 3 REVIT CHEATS - dimensions, room tags, patterns, lines, ...

In this video I'll show you these tricks for Revit:
- how to change pattern/colour of an element by overwriting its graphics
- how to fake dimensions
- how to edit room tag to fake area
- how to make an unwanted line disappear
As I said in the video, these are emergency last minute hacks. I don't recommend using them on a regular basis, because they will haunt you later in the project - especially messing with the dimensions.

Overriding dimensions - Pick the dimension text twice and the dialogue box opens, click on replace with text. In the box right click and insert unicode character, just pick the top one, then type in what you want, and it will appear as the dimension text!

Well, that's all good to use, but I do not like using it ... I mean, at least in a real world ... Just thinking of one of my designs, there are hundreds of changes in a simple architecture plan and every time that I do some cheat I had a lot of headache to change it again, manually...
In the other hand, I use a lot of this first cheat to show collission, but of course with Dynamo.
And finally, i like the way you show your knolodge... I like your YT chanel...

With the dimension cheat you can also rightclick (in the replace text section) and insert a unicode. This way you can type numbers without extra dots ....Nice videos (thumbsup)

The best way to fake a dimension
>click on the dimension
>select replace with text
>right click inside (replace with text) text box
>select "Insert Unicode control character"
>select "Zero width joiner"
>return to "replace with text" text box
>type the dimension
>OK
