    Great video! You were simple in your explanation of how to do actually do the job. I have the same window, same size. Thanks!

    Looking into this for my bar shed. Thanks for the video! Super helpful. We’re going to install ourselves.
    The link you have listed says glass not included. Did you find one with the foggy white glass?

    Did yours leak? I got the same type window but mine lets in water where the hinge is.

    • @matthewbigler5150

      I'm having the same issue right now. My first plan is going to be to put some weather stripping above the hinge to deflect water. I'm not sure if the window raising will allow that to work or whether it'll warp the weather stripping or cause it to come loose. But that's my first plan. Plan B is to try to add a gasket/seal to the inside of the hinge to see if it creates a seal. Plan C (least preferred) will be to drill weep holes in the bottom track where the water pools for it to leak outside. I say least preferred because I don't know if the product is solid so drilling a hole might not be helpful. And it's a lot easier to take away metal than put it back, lol. Let me know if you came up with a solution.

    Use butyl tape and you can skip on the silicone.

    The metal beams in the trailer, it’s okay to cut those? Won’t it have less vertical support?

    • @poormansfoodtruck
      @poormansfoodtruck  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can cut providing that you reinforce the area. You’re absolutely right in that it loses some of its structural integrity, so definitely important to reinforce afterwards

    • @dubbthedon4753
      @dubbthedon4753 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How do you reinforce the area after cutting out the vertical studs ? I have a 6x10 trailer and same window

    There it goes, little by little 👍
    So, did you move because on this video I noticed you are in a backyard and I remember your first video when you bought the trailer you may have problems with HOA.

    • @poormansfoodtruck
      @poormansfoodtruck  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely! Yes sir we did in fact move to a place that has no HOA (specifically for the purpose of keeping our trailer on our property). Thank you so much for your support!

      @poormansfoodtruck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dang! That’s a lot of cheddar for a window! After I installed, it rained super-heavy here in FL for 4/5 days straight. Checked the window afterwards and no leaks in sight 👍🏻 glad I could help!

    Great Video and GREAT job!!! Would it be possible to take out the aluminum and put in a piece of plexiglass? I want to buy this and have it function as a window when it is closed.....what is the thickness of the metal sheet? So odd they sell this but they do not sell glass for it? Thanks for your help! Cheers!

      Thank you so much for the amazing comments! I’m sure if there is a will, there is a way! I believe they now sell these windows on Vevor with the interior window already installed!

      @@poormansfoodtruck really? Ive been looking and trying to fig out a way for it to function as a window too! Only thing thats holding me back. It looks great! Would be so much better of it was clear on the inside. U happen to know where on the website they have these as a window?

  • @AdamFlohr
    @AdamFlohr 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Did your window come with the latches inside the frame to lock it already installed or did I get a faulty window?

    • @poormansfoodtruck
      @poormansfoodtruck  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mine doesn’t have a “lock” on the inside, but one the handle swings downward from inside the trailer, it is fully secured

  • @benstoth
    @benstoth 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have the same window, it leaks because they don’t continue the gasket where the hinge meets the window (on the window not the trailer side).
    Does anyone else know how to fix that?

    What did you use to cut out window? Inside and outside material?

    • @poormansfoodtruck
      @poormansfoodtruck  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Used oscillating tool to cut the plywood on the inside, and an angle grinder with a 41/2 metal wheel for the aluminum skin on the outside

      Thank you for the feedback, my goal was to try and keep the videos as short as possible, and honestly, I was worried about screwing it up. Now I feel more confident after doing a couple, I wish that I did. Definitely check out Frank Baltierrez though as I basically did exactly what he did but on a smaller scale
