I rarely say anything negative on public posts, but I want to say that imo Rob Barraco can play rings around Jeff Chimenti, and I was disappointed mightily when The Dead and later Furthur chose Jeff over Rob. That being said, I'm always rooting for Jeff and have heard him play good stuff.
Furthur Sweetwater Music Hall 1-17-13 Set 1 Feel Like A Stranger Doing That Rag Cassidy Stagger Lee All Along The Watchtower > New Speedway Boogie > Viola Lee Blues
Thank you. Just finished watching the "Terrapin Crossroad" live stream show on 3/9/13 and I needed something to end my evening. So special. Thank you all.
love the fact that you allgot SO MUCH THINGS TO SAY...relax and enjoy they are keeping the music alive ... benn seeing shows since early 80's nd thanks to these guys still seeing shows....can i get an amen
Just picked out the a little help from my friends tease at the end of new speedway boogie John K has links for days. Me and my buddy both got lifetime here!
coyote023 sounds like you expected this group to be GD, or you been sipping on the kool-aid to often.I have been to over 100 GD shows up and down the west coast and well over 20 FURTHUR shows and I was impressed how great they played and sounded , especially given the ages of phil and bobby.for fourteen years I thought I have seen my last show in 95, so I was loving these last 4 to 5 years and very GRATEFUL that these guys still have the fire and passion
Good job John K..... never really enjoyed any of these revitalized versions of My favorite Alchemical masters....but the fleeting ones with kimmock....but John.K has the closest Tone and feel to that of the FAT man yet....
Amen to that. Dead and Co. is always too slow. Furthur played slow some but not constantly. But for real peak experiences, I go to the Phil Lesh Quintet from 2000-03.
I don't know...I just listened to the first song and I like it....it takes a good long time for the tune to unfold, lots of space for the players to play and improvise and squeeze the most from the song...I'm sorry if some of you don't like it...I just think it's fun to listen to and there are some really nice sounds coming out here...and lots of time for the sounds to make it into the mix...it's a good thing...
Hey coyote023, Who are you DUDE! You have a lot of balls criticizing these guys! John Kadlecik happens to be a very fine guitarist with a pretty good voice. No, he's not Garcia, nor does he try to be! He was tailor made to fill in that empty slot that Garcia left! They couldn't do better then to find this great musician! If you must criticize somebody, how about those two lumps on a log in the background that sing once in awhile? We are all lucky to have the remnants of what's left over from the old GRATEFUL DEAD! What about all the young people that now have the chance to at least have some idea of what the music was like back in the day! Peace to you and yours
The one tried and tru is phil. There is no bass player that is even a little bit like him. Phil is easily one of the top 3 bass players of all time. Kinda like levon was one of the top four drummers of all time.
It's funny how so many people like to say this or that about the musicians Bobby and Phil chose to jam with, and always want to compare them to Jerry. John can do the job as can Warren and Steve. Jerrys gone and these boys wanna play and since Bob and Phil sign the paychecks this is it you don't have to like it tune in or buy tickets. I'd like to know since youre the expert,,,hows Youre music career doin?
If doug irwin was still around this cat would get ahold of him to make a guitar to try to be more like garcia. The band that phil got together with larry campbell and his wife, jackie greene, and molo now those were some real good shows because everyone played THEIR way, when it was time for each one to solo they did it their way no trying to imitate and that was the koolest. I am sorry to trash these guys but this all plastic none of it is real.
Notice the sarcasm dude. You say that you are a huge deadhead, what is it that makes you such a huge dead head? How many shows have been to?When did you 1st start seeing shows. There is no "TRUTH" in opinions.
Why does it seem that no matter he plays or who he plays with weir has problems with his stuff. When the grateful dead played most of us knew that healy messed with weir's stack. I don't know who mixes these shows because i cannot drag my self to see whatever these cat's call themselves these day's. Why does this guy try to mirror garcia? It has got to be boring. There is no energy coming off the stage at anytime. These crazy set lists mean absolutely nothing at all. No garcia,no trip.
For me clearly the best line-up we can have
It does not get better than this. This band was high class!
Jeff Chimenti could play with literally anyone on the planet. What a privilege to hear him play.
+TheTestingGrounds Couldn't agree more!
He is a tremendously fun and warm individual also...so very humble and friendly ...very fun to hang out with....

Annamarie......question, how do you think Dead and Co. stacks up to Furthur?
It doesn't stack up at all not even close. No Phil.
We love you Bobby
Good job John K..... never really enjoyed any of these revitalized versions of My favorite Alchemical masters....but the fleeting ones with kimmock....but John.K has the closest Tone and feel to that of the FAT man yet....

Amen to that. Dead and Co. is always too slow. Furthur played slow some but not constantly. But for real peak experiences, I go to the Phil Lesh Quintet from 2000-03.

Tastes great....Lesh filling....
I wish this band would get back together! they are way better than Dead & Co.
sooo much better this felt like a dead show
Summer/Fall Tour 2021 would like to have a word..
Bobby looked a little out of it in 2013. He looks great in 2015, almost a different person, really.
that big grin haha 36:35
the dso cat is the stranger!!!!
nice lil sorta MLB jam before the Cassidy
What's wrong with you coyote023? How can you say this is plastic? These guys sound pretty good! Who's the wrong person to criticize, YOU?
It's funny how so many people like to say this or that about the musicians Bobby and Phil chose to jam with, and always want to compare them to Jerry. John can do the job as can Warren and Steve. I think Bobby's amp has a terrible hum. Needs a ground shield.
watchtower!

It's very nice but Bobby should get rid of that beard and mustache.
Why ?
It's his face!

What do you mean dude they called bobby captain trips
Just wait it gets way worse, Bob started a band and hired a way worse John, John Mayer lol must be terrible to be that jaded.
@@kylecoughlin8040who called him that? Was never called that.
If you close your eyes and really dream you can see Jerry behind it all too
Let Phil sing
