    The GTR was a fast car but Fred Gibson and his team made it the dominant consistent race winner it was, other race teams didn't get the same consistent pace and reliability from the car.

      Nismo kindly asked them not to race in Japan, because the Gibson GT-Rs would have run rings around the undefeated Calsonic Nismo GT-R and Nismo would have lost business from customer teams who would have gone to Gibson instead.
