    Arnie, you're such an inspiration to me. Not just because you're Arnold Schwarzenegger but because you're human and not afraid to show it and you're so positive and motivating and you not only interested in the fit people but those of us who are starting from scratch. Thanks ❤

    Thank you Arnold! I have a beautiful one year old grandson, Liam that had open heart surgery at six weeks old. He may need another operation soon but to remain positive. My other ten grandkids wrote him letters stating, You got this! It was the most moving thing I've ever experienced! God Bless your motivation and if you're ever in Lake Geneva, Wi, look us up! We'll go to the YMCA!

    Arnie you are a terrific role model to people recovering from or suffering from health issues, or just generally aging (with a fair wind, it comes to us all). It isn't easy to be positive when the chips are down, but you continually demonstrate that it is the state of mind that is important. Be positive, be determined, grit your teeth, work through the pain & never give up. You are a modern day hero. Thank you from a small part of England

    Seeing you in a hospital gown, doing after surgery walk with Patrick there. It is exactly like my own father and me.
    My dad had 10 stents over 25 years and 2 open heart surgeries. Once when I was a child and again when I was an adult.
    There's nothing quite like being there helping motivate and hold up your dad in time of recovery. ❤❤

      Best wishes to you. Been there, done that twice. The best advice ever to anyone post-surgery: get up and get walking down those hallways as much as possible. The faster you can get out of the hospital, avoid infection, etc. etc. the better your recovery will go. My third valve was a TAVI..so, so grateful to have avoided round 3.....TAVI is so much easier than the open-heart route.

    Thank you for sharing this inspirational video. It shows that you have amazing willpower and strength. And thank you for your Pump Club emails. Even seeing an email from you inspires me because I know that every letter has awesome things that get you you motivated and moving and many new things I didnt even know.about.
    I joined a gym 8 months ago and have enjoyed every workout even I’m over 70. But your spirit never gets old. Your advice has inspired and motivated me so much and made going to the gym fun.
    Seeing you using a walker brings back memories when I had to use one because 3 doctors didn’t care to take ct scans to find out what caused a severe pain in my leg one month after I had been hit by a car. Sometimes I felt so weak that my daughter pushed the walker while I sat on the seat. The 4th doctor had a ct scan taken and it showed that I had 4 slipped discs in my back. I found a really good and gentle chiropractor who gradually started fixing my back.
    But ct scan didn’t show that I also had a broken hip so I was in agonising pain for 1 1/2 months. Finally the 5th doctor had an x-ray taken and it showed that my hip had been broken for so long that a new bone had started growing. Luckily I found an excellent orthopaedic surgeon who operated immediately on my hip. No words can describe well enough how grateful I was when the pain was gone. I used the walker for one month, then changed to a 4 legged stick for a month and eventually used a normal stick that got stolen when I forgot it in a newsagency. My back and hip have been great for 12 years, thanks to the amazing chiropractor and orthopaedic surgeon.

In my mid 60's, never a day in the hospital, ideal blood pressure, and training 7 days a week in my own home gym. I have a bicuspid aortic valve and I haven’t had surgery for it yet. I have been really scared for when that happens. I’m about to turn 33 and my doctor informed me it’s going to be in my 40’s that I will need surgery. I am so scared and it is comforting to see someone who has done so well after multiple surgeries and is older than me, too. Granted I have some extra weight I need to lose and that probably hasn’t helped me much. Thank you so much for sharing your story. It gives me hope. I really hope I can go to the Cleveland Clinic when it comes time. Everyone tells me they’re the best.

    ok, that's it. All I needed to get up and do my workouts now 💪Thank you!!!
    Resistance training has helped me to keep hip surgery away since almost two years when just walking had become very painful and the body started to contort into this limping shape, bent forward.
    There was the dreaded diagnosis, "Osteoarthritis, comes with age," see here (pointing to the imaging results) - sorry, your cartilage is gone in that hip joint, you need an artificial one".
    Started very specific exercises, very slowly and carefully initially. No surgery yet and mostly pain free for now. Exercise is medicine! Gotta do it now!

At times I am so afraid of life, especially work, that I feel paralyzed. I am in professional treatment and thatt helps as well but just maybe you have a story to share on the topic of fear, anxiety and peoples expectations and how you cope with that? Anyways: Ever since I have found your contents on linkedin and with that your monday newsletter, things have gotten better. • @Dr_No
      @Dr_No ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gabrielbrosteanu8586 Stay positive and never give up. When my 2nd aortic valve started to wear out (homograph i.e. tissue valve ), two cardiologists told me it was doubtful I'd be able to find a surgeon that would operate on me again because I'd be too high risk given all my scar tissue. Did I accept that? No. Never give up hope. Hope is the fuel that make the seemingly impossible, possible. I've overcome so many obstacles in life because I never lost hope or stopped believing. Arnold certainly understands this and it fantastic that he's offering the help other find the spark within themselves to not only keep believing, but to get up and do something to help actualize their goals. Never give up. Ever.

    Arnold, the one and only Conan! Can you please cover more details in your podcast about strength training for older people, such as adjusting lifting weight as you age. I don’t see anyone 60 and above benching 300lbs. Are there specific reasons beyond shrinking muscles? Can a senior citizen maintain the intensity, and volume of a 30 year old? Why not? I know this may seem obvious, however I think providing grounded and specific guidance to older people about strength training may inspire some to begin, or keep going as they age. I don’t see anything online on this topic. The only thing I see is some dude trying to sell a fitness program and it looks like crap.
