To bad Ur not able be an Instructor for all new truckers. And a lot of 4 wheelers also. U make it look easy. I live in Arkansas. We recently had snow and Ice. I have a 4wd truck. I'm disabled but learned how drive 55 years ago from my dad a trucker. U remind me of things he would say while driving in snow and ice. Ur top shelf. My dad always would say. Forget the brakes in snow and ice. He taught momentum and curves and hills.. Great job of explaining. I went to town several times during recent snow for all my neighbors. We live in hills. They just couldn't figure out how an old woman could drive in that. Ha. Said to them : my dad taught 5 boys and 1 girl how drive trucks, cars, tractors, and how back up trailor.

Nice to know I'm not the only one. Having a certain yellow-orange company driver nearly take the front end off of a brand new K.W. that I was delivering into Oregon really curbed my enthusiasm for icy mountain road driving. My guess is that there was less than 12" between the back of his trailer and that shiny new chrome front bumper when he jumped in front of me. It's not me that makes me nervous, it's everyone else out there.

Keep up the good driving skills, Did it for 30 years. never got tired of learning. you are absolutely right about the speed of your rig making a big difference on handling. Even descending down hill takes proper speed to be safe, steady and no braking! yes it sucks having to be surrounded by morons on snowy roads. people have no clue on how to use snow pack to their advantage on snow covered roads. Finally get a chance to comment after this video. I was half watching your video last night and tweeting away, so I didn't notice the spin out. I will watch again. I was so glad my grandson came out for a visit today. We have been sick with this darn cold for 2 weeks so we stayed home so as not to spread the germs. First event out we went to have lunch at a tiny Mexican restaurant. First bite of my beef enchilada and half my tooth broke off. I thought it was a bone so just pulled it out onto a napkin. My husband was saying we got away cheap for lunch and then I felt my tooth....half gone. It is not so cheap now. We will see what they do Friday with it. Speaking of teeth, did you ever have your tooth checked out? Don't you get days off to take care of it? You better find someone to take you to the appointment.
Stay safe and don't pay attention to these whiners on your blog.

hi Mike in the snow... I enjoy traveling with you 'when the going is sleazy' that hi-performance Mustang likely has Tojo V tread for the rain and speed. The problem is, the compound is too hard for winter and he has no sipes. I put a set on my '04 Mustang GT when the Goodyear gatorbacks wore down to sandal depth. BIG mistake ... at the first stop light in the drizzlin rain I slid to a stop one hundred yards from the store. I was back in his store before the ink dried. A set of Gatorbacks all around and a memo to self to never buy at Town Unfair tire again. For driving in winter I put aggressive tread studded tires all around, a lesson from my MGB-GT days in the late '60's. I carry and use a tire gauge for weekly checkup.
