The whole selling point of Goodyear welted shoes is they can be resoled by simply using the old welt but half these shoe videos show still-good welts being yanked off and replaced wastefully and laboriously.
He clearly stated the customer wanted a black welt. It’s his money.

Why not dye the brown welt black?
I don’t think he gets upset, simply because there’s always a reason for it and cheapskates always question everything to save a buck. If they were my boots I would want a new welt even if it was the same color. Respect to Aaron for the work he does.
These are my boots. Reason. The original Welt was over sanded and un re usable. The brown was all the way through and I wanted a natural side profile. Dyeing anything black that isn't natural or light brown looks bad, the Welt Aaron uses is better quality, Aaron makes sure to leave enough of a lip and to stitch deep enough that the Welt will be able to be reused many times.
@@garattyfisher it doesn't bother him, he mentions it because it's what he gets questions on the most and people always try to get him to reuse unusable welts to save money. His vids are different because he is trying a different style. If anything the fact that he has gotten a ton busier has affected the vids more than any TH-cam comments
@@garattyfisher people are always going to have opinions on someone's TH-cam vids, you should see the complaints he gets on the weirdest things. I was just answering your questions. He isn't fazed by the negative comments and he is just trying a different style.
