Good on you for owning the mistake of towing through here. I've travelled this travk many times and would absolutely never tow! That 90° hairpin is insane! Beautiful part of the world though hey ❤
Oh my goodness! We would not have towed through there is we knew it was like that at all! We will be warning others, that’s for sure! But yes, an awesome part of the world 😍
When I lived up at Bloomfield, I drove Express 22 seat RWD Coaster busses up and down the Bloomfield track in the dry season and early into the wet (the busses had snorkels). I love that country. It's my spiritual country.
20:00 We had an express bus run between Coen and Cooktown as well. During the many runs I did on that road, I had never seen water under that bridge where you're camped until now. I was always doing the run in the peak of the dry season. I've camped there before, too.
7:35 Wow. Just. Wow. I've seen photos of the damage up at Rossville and The Lion's Den, but your video is the first I've seen of the damage down the bottom end of Cape and The Track. I think I might cry a bit watching this.
Lovely Ep and spots guys and cherubin I think, , Great effort towing your gear thought there guys, we have done it a few times but not with big vans only 5m boats and Windup Jaycos
13:30 A little trivia about that stone clad bridge. The original design was to have the bridge on an angle across the creek following the line of the track. However, scientists doing an EPA assessment found a breeding site and habitat of an endangered frog species in the path of the bridge, so the approaches and bridge were completely redesigned to avoid the habitat. It is (probably was now looking at the carnage there) adjacent to the bridge on the upstream side at the northern bank if my memory serves me correctly.
@explorewives That bridge is relatively new. Maybe 2013 or 14? The approaches are a lot different now tho. There was no retail ing wall when it was first done. I guess they had to do that after the Jasper rains. The approach from the south would have been entirely washed away.

Well done, that was not for the faint hearted. Looks like the crew are having a great time, stay safe.
Thank you!! No not at all. Very scary stuff that way but we made it safely thankfully and we’re having a ball 😁
