What a great adventure your having with your family, my family would have made the six o’clock news on the first night we all camped together, my sisters would’ve had to be pulled apart from having a scrap, my brothers and I would have been stirring them on, and we’d all need liver transplants by the end of the first week. Props to your mum for having a crack on her own to, stay safe Cheers.

I almost laughed out loud when you said corrugations. I found that most times up the road between Hann and Coen, 70kmh smoothed them out. However, there were places where we'd have to crawl over them. The bulldust holes were a shocker, too.

20:00 We had an express bus run between Coen and Cooktown as well. During the many runs I did on that road, I had never seen water under that bridge where you're camped until now. I was always doing the run in the peak of the dry season. I've camped there before, too.

13:30 A little trivia about that stone clad bridge. The original design was to have the bridge on an angle across the creek following the line of the track. However, scientists doing an EPA assessment found a breeding site and habitat of an endangered frog species in the path of the bridge, so the approaches and bridge were completely redesigned to avoid the habitat. It is (probably was now looking at the carnage there) adjacent to the bridge on the upstream side at the northern bank if my memory serves me correctly.

7:35 Wow. Just. Wow. I've seen photos of the damage up at Rossville and The Lion's Den, but your video is the first I've seen of the damage down the bottom end of Cape and The Track. I think I might cry a bit watching this.

When I lived up at Bloomfield, I drove Express 22 seat RWD Coaster busses up and down the Bloomfield track in the dry season and early into the wet (the busses had snorkels). I love that country. It's my spiritual country.
