I really appreciate you showing these non successful hunts. Great to see the example of class, sportsmanship and focusing on positive. This goes beyond hunting. Please keep these coming
I use to dream of hunting with Randy. However after watching beau for years now I think I would prefer to go hunt with Beau!!! Awesome food and llamas to help pack out
Beau makes ‘roughing it’ seem like camping at “The Ritz-Carlton”!!! You should get the James Beard award of ‘elk hunting -camping- cooking award 🥇!! Way to go, Beau !!!
You didn’t screw anything up Randy! I watched all three videos in this hunt series with no complaints at all. The killing is a bonus, the show is watching you and the boys laugh and joke and do what we all know and enjoy as hunting 👍🏻 Good stuff
Hey, you SAW elk... and, got to choose whether or not to put a path toward them. Not a complete loss. I enjoyed it. And, it makes the average guy feel "more gooder" when he sees that he's not the ONLY one that eats tag-soup.
I watched all the episodes of your late season elk hunt. Its nice to know I'm not the only guy who doesn't fill a tag. Still a good watch. Its not about the kill, that's only a part. Hunters know this. Still a fan ( as long as you keep it real) !!!!
Win or lose it's always such great experiences and memories. Although I truly hate the empty feeling from seeing a dry spot where the tent was and a leftover pile of firewood that almost every camp has when the trip is over ... Especially when one of the group leaves. Would like to add a lot of us appreciate that you show the unsuccessful hunts too for obvious reasons. Thanks for the production and all the time you spend on this Randy and Co.
I always enjoy the experience, the company, and the time in the wild. That is what makes the entire thing worth it, regardless of the outcome of the hunt. Randy, we are all hunters, we all know this.
Randy no matter what happens in your videos they are always fun to watch. The guys you hunt with are real people and you have real hunts. Keep up the great work. Thanks again.
I say thanks every hunt for the way my father, 91 and still hunting with us, taught us how to hunt. We learned at a very early age that it is hunting not killing. As any hunter knows, it is the camaraderie of the hunt, the early morning coffee, food cooked over an open fire or the two burner Coleman stove. Waking up the forest in the morning is one of the greatest time of day that anyone can spend hunting. Continue on Randy and company. We will watch and nod our head in agreement knowing that hunting is about friends, family and the great outdoors.
Most excellent hunt. The beauty of those mountains and the comradary of cast and crew was, I'm sure, worth the price of admission. Trying to transfer to WY with my job. If all goes well, I'll be a few hours from Wind River Range. Have five elk hunts under my belt. Batting .600 so far. For country Tennessee boy, not bad. Love those mountains y all call home. Stay safe.
"2020" The year to remember. Covid, No elk, No deer. Will be glad when it will be over and next year WILL BE BETTER!! Randy, you did your best. Thanks: from all of us!!!!!!!!
Actually, with all of the hunting videos you have done and all the success you have had, it is good to have a hunt of good food, good comraderie, and no kill; it makes the rest of us feel not so bad about the ones which have been null for us. As always, your filming is excellent.
Tough deal. It’s what I love about hunting though. This year in Wyoming was so amazing. I saw so many Moose, Elk, deer, and antelope. Way more than previous years. Hunted with a light jacket most of the time.
I’d gladly spend 5 days hanging with my good friends in elk camp. Getting an elk would just be the cherry on top! The success of the experience is not hinged on getting an animal. This looked like a wonderful experience to enjoy friends & nature.
Fun times living the dream! Listening closely to your narrative, finding out that you are restricted to areas where you are allowed to film explains a lot! Thanks for the insightful revelation!
Great video guys. I really appreciate you sharing the learning experiences along with your success. I’ve only really started watching your channel a few weeks ago but have learned so much. I’m also starting your podcast series on Spotify from the beginning. You have really opened my eyes to the conservation side and the importance of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Glad I found you while I’m still in my early 20s and free to plan adventures like yours in the future. Have a great day! No snow in northern MN yet in case you’re feeling home sick 👍
This is how my third rifle Colorado hunt went ....but one the last day driving out I found some bulls and filled my tag love watching y'all and appreciate everything you've taught me
8 degrees on your dash is deceptive for the viewers, that is durned cold in that country. The wind effect probably knocks it down below zero. Beautiful scenery and you are right, that is how she goes. Thanks for the content and sharing it.
Still enjoyable to watch. That's hunting, I've had lots of sits where you see nothing. Its the camaraderie of the hunt makes it enjoyable, getting the game you're after it's just a big bonus. Keep up the great work and the great videos!
There's some men that I hunt with that are much greater hunters and woodsmen than I could ever hope to be and I always joke with them that it makes me feel better when I get back to camp and they haven't seen anything. Makes me feel like I'm not such a screw up 😂 That to say, as a viewer, sometimes it's nice to see things not work out for someone as seasoned as you are. Makes me remember that what we love to do is just not an easy task.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Reminds me of moose camp: bacon and eggs for breakfast every day, balogna sandwich for lunch, chili, stew, or soup for supper. 10 days of that and you'll know every nice sittin log within a mile of camp!
You never screwed up, Heck , If it always went as planned, the whole drama and mystery that makes Hunting so intriguing and enjoyable would be lost, Besides good times outdoors with Good friends, is well worth the price of admission. We have gone on Horseback hunts, and all it was, was 5 or 6 days of Wrangler cooking grub and Taking pictures, but would do it again in a heartbeat! Merry Christmas
Always fun to watch your hunts... whether you get a bull or not. Just wondering if you would film a cow hunt sometime... you know, for us meat hunters. LOL
Great hunt guys ! Thx for sharing this beautiful time. Have you ever shot elk on the way back to civilization after everything has been packed up and heading home ?
@@Fresh_Tracks I like that series, it is a very valuable concept that you and the team have made into reality. Pretty much like a coach breaking down film after a loss or win. I am sure there will be some lessons learned there. Having to apply for a film permit so much in advance and having to stick to it makes it difficult to pull up stakes and move elsewhere.
I actually really appreciated this episode and this series for the honesty. Sometimes they aren't where they are supposed to be and you have to try to make the most of it. Not enough hunt results in a kill. This wasn't an exciting adventure-filled episode but it was real and honest. Randy, what happened to your deal with Nissan? Looks like that was a Raptor you were driving.
If yal didn't stay yal would had been thinking what if we stayed and glass til time ran out lol yuh al did good i enjoy the hunt !! Daniel from central Mississippi
This a good show but hunting has changed so much since I was a kid in the 80’s, we just went out in jeans, long johns, flannel shirt/jacket snd a basic rifle with a scope. Now it looks like the movie avatar with all this new gear lol
That's why they call it hunting not shooting. Early season in Alberta the elk were around and the boys got 2 bulls and late season they were nowhere to be found. They should be a little bigger next year!
Randy, I don’t know if it helps take away the sting of an infilled tag, but here’s your 1st place trophy for “best dance moves in a snow field 2020”.🏆 And if we could accurately forecast the weather and the presence of big bull elk 3 months in advance they wouldn’t call us hunters, they’d call us sorcerers.
Randy I love your show. You and your crew always do a great job. But I have 1 question ? Ware can I get a pair of those gloves you use in all your cold weather videos ?
Don't be so hard on yourself Randy. I'd rather be out in the wild for 5 days and shoot nothing than sitting cooped up at work. Remember what you said " A bad days hunting beats a great day at work"
Is there any way the Video Permits can be explained ? I don’t fully understand why a permit is needed to film a hunt. Thank you for a great series of videos sharing your experience. Hope y’all have a great Christmas season.
Randy, when it comes to applying for these permits, is it because you plan to air this on "national TV"? I ask because there's obviously plenty of TH-cam channels now that do not worry about permit areas like you do.
Yes sir mr randy what is the make and model of your 7mm08 rifle you use to hunt please help im looking for a good rifle in 7mm08 thank you sir .look forword to hearing from you
Can't help but think that Randy should have put the rack on top of the cab of the Raptor instead of the camper shell at least you could step up on the running boards to get access to storage on top of that and it would be more of a level set up then what he has right now. Just saying.....
Randy what did you mean you couldn't film them elk ? I thought if in sight you can legally film it . Straighten me out on that Randy thanks ! Beautiful country Daniel from central Mississippi
Just a guess, but he probably could have turned a camera on them, but they were in an area he couldn’t have filmed a hunt in due to his permit. Seems pretty stupid for an operation the size of Randy’s, but I guess “rules is rules”.
I really appreciate you showing these non successful hunts. Great to see the example of class, sportsmanship and focusing on positive. This goes beyond hunting. Please keep these coming
Beau cooking and the comradery of the randy crew always makes it a fun and genuine time watching yall hunt.
I use to dream of hunting with Randy. However after watching beau for years now I think I would prefer to go hunt with Beau!!! Awesome food and llamas to help pack out
He'd be a far better option.

been watching for a while, first series I seen where they didn't get one on the ground. Glad to see Randy is human like the rest of us!
I watched all the episodes of your late season elk hunt. Its nice to know I'm not the only guy who doesn't fill a tag. Still a good watch. Its not about the kill, that's only a part. Hunters know this. Still a fan ( as long as you keep it real) !!!!
This is the reason I love Randy's shows there real. No fake great job guys.
Randy,
You are such a nice guy! I love watching your shows and the sportsmanship that you portray to the public. You are awesome!
I agree, the wilderness with great people, delicious food and the possibility of filling your freezer beats anything else in life.
Win or lose it's always such great experiences and memories. Although I truly hate the empty feeling from seeing a dry spot where the tent was and a leftover pile of firewood that almost every camp has when the trip is over ... Especially when one of the group leaves.

Always enjoy your videos, harvest or not. What's not to like about llamas, Beau"s camp and a beautiful country to look at!
Like my uncle use to say, "The elk are where you find them." This episode was my whole season last year. 🤣🤣🤣
100% Elk are where ya find em"....bugger is, I don't usually find em. ;)
Man Tim is positive what a great guy......
He is. I've never seen him have a bad day in my eights years of knowing him.

Randy is always talking about beau’s breakfast burritos. lol
I enjoyed the cold adventure , looks like you could have used some good N.M. Chili 🌶 to warm things up . Lol
Happy birthday always a pleasure 🤙
All good thanks for the honest side of things...!
Awesome hunt guys! You gave it all..... that's elk hunting.
On the next episode: Randy teaches, step by step, his signature dance.
If hunting or CPA doesn’t work out, he’s got a future in dance or choreography :D
This is how my third rifle Colorado hunt went ....but one the last day driving out I found some bulls and filled my tag love watching y'all and appreciate everything you've taught me

Yes, the windchill temps would be well below zero.
Randy i'm 82 steel bow hunting i have found that it is what it is.
Tag soup is better than sitting at home.🦌
Montana was definitely different this year, weather then more weather “Endeavor to Perservere “
May just make me rethink my dream about “Hunting with Randy “ being a sure thing! 😂🤣😂

Randy quoting Ray from trailer park boys! “Way she goes”
Way of the road
Way she goes bud.... fnking way she goes
The shit Hawks are swooping in low
Can’t win em all. Beautiful country. And you ate like kings!

"Next time Newberg" ROFL That's the way elk hunting goes.
All of the fun and none of the "real work". ;) Fun to watch.
Great hunt guys ! Thx for sharing this beautiful time. Have you ever shot elk on the way back to civilization after everything has been packed up and heading home ?
Is that a new Sitka vest Randy is wearing? Great video as always Mr. Newberg, hope Michael is feeling better!
That’s how it goes sometimes,The elk are where they are I was told once by an older fellow hunter
I think we all have hunts like that but good friends an good eats make it good
I see a future Lessons Learned episode coming from the Montana Elk Camp series. Way to stick it out to the bitter cold 🥶 end.
We plan on doing a "Lessons Learned" for this hunt. Lots of lessons.

-7, now that elk hunting! Was a very interesting season this year, even in western MT it was very odd weather
Looking forward to the next time
It's always a good day hunting the harvest may be a bit tougher.
Part of hunting!
Just Lime Deer Hunting near Effie Minnesota, Beautiful Country and no critters

Bo did good on breakfast made me hungry lol
Well.... what does llama taste like??? 🦙
Randy, not sure if you've ever done it, but if you haven't would you do a video about what you wear in extreme cold temps?
Beau should open a restaurant in the mountains!!!!!!
Only thing that can fix this screw up is a trip to town and the DQ for a Dilly Bar.
Or a Blizzard.
That's why they call it hunting not shooting. Early season in Alberta the elk were around and the boys got 2 bulls and late season they were nowhere to be found. They should be a little bigger next year!
Part of me curled up when I saw that -7 below. been there
One of the best series of food videos I've ever watched. #noskinnyguys

What's the reason behind the film permit? Why are there restrictions?
omg randy where is your mask!! LOL

True, very true.
We could barely get around opening weekend this year, 3 foot of snow sucked ass!

It’s called hunting! Its never been called getting! This is Montana, if you don’t like the weather, just wait five minutes, cause it will change.
How do you keep your water from freezing when its that cold? Does it stay warm enough in the tent while you are gone?

CMon Randy you tried to outguess the weather guesser and that failed? What could go wrong there?
Got rid if the Nissan for a Raptor I like it 👌
That’s why it’s called “hunting” not “killing “
Sometimes you get them , sometimes you don't, that's hunting.
All I want for Christmas is to win a hunt with Randy.
