@@Insomnia_tic All of what they are playing are notes, obviously. However we don’t define a note as a major or minor. Notes have names, A through G# (or A flat, depending on the key) and numbers are used to define where the note is in that scale. The words Major and minor describes the type of chord in a key. A major 1 in the key of C Major has different notes than a major 1 in the key of D major. Thus major 1, 4 or 5 and minor 6 are chords, whether played solid or broken. And I, IV, V and vi is a common chord progression in pop music.
@@timoneek444 that’s fair. I guess I used the wrong term. It’s been awhile since I used my music theory words lol I was thinking more the root note of each chord in relations to the tonic note. But major and minor implies I’m talking about chords so… my bad lol
People who don’t play music don’t understand what a beautiful conversation we have in the moment we’re playing. You get to hear the result but we’re enjoying each other on a completely different level. ❤
For those who don't play music, those numbers are the chords in the family Chord (set of notes that goes with the note it is sung in). For example if a song is played in C, then it would use the C family chord which is C D E F G A B, where C is referred to as "1", D as "2", E as "3" and it goes on to 7, so for example when he says "6" it refers to the A chord, when he says "1" it refers to the C chord, when he says "4" it refers to the F chord, etc. this just makes it faster to communicate within the band. The chords vary depending on the note that your playing in, and it really just comes with instinct the longer you play music.
@@ItzSiimpllyEmma If it's in let's say in the key of F# then you would adjust to that key, so like F# would be "1", G# would be "2", A# would be "3"; B would be 4; C# would be 5; D# would be 6; E# would be 7. I hope that makes sense... :)
These boys are wonderful to hear. The world should see and hear more about guys like them, who truly warrant our attention. Too often we are subjected to the negative aspects of our young people and these boys serve as great inspiration and actual hope for the future. There must be many more like them who are not currently being showcased as they deserve
That’s tremendous bravo. I don’t read music and I don’t know keys of songs. But I’ve been told I have an ear for notes. To match up songs. When DJING the BPM’, and phrasing, pitch control on the turntables. So my coach said Practice Practice Practice. Yeah
Hey thank you for showing these. I just found your channel and I had to follow after I saw your smile when you get into the music. That’s the exact reason I first started wanting to play music. I haven’t touched my violin or guitar in years but you inspired me to do so again so thank you.
This is not related but seeing that text “the journey is always so worth it” legit made me tear up, because im not super happy and proud of my life right now, but that message was really reassuring❤ the music, dynamic and energy is phenomenal!
Brilliant. This reminds me why I want to finally learn band chords even though violin is not a band instrument. So many more possibilities for group playing and improv!
aye could you play some classical!! yall are fckin sick - im a high school violinist who loves jamming & improvising but i can never find ppl who want to w me 😭
Someone who understands music please: do the piano play what would the chords and the rhythm of the song, and the violin plays the melody and the cello plays the second voice?
He’s using the number of the notes in the major scale. Major 1, major 4, major 5, minor 6. Those are the most commonly used notes in pop music.
Chords. Not just notes. The major and minor chords of the key they are playing in.
@@timoneek444 but you can mix and match the types of chords. Those are definitely the notes tho
