    Always wanted to know what singel engine taxi is and how to do it. I am surprised that its a common procedure. Getting smarter every day :)

    I cannot remember what aircraft it was, but I was doing a single engine taxi and it wouldn't turn against the one running engine if I did not have enough speed to coast. It was really frustrating and I even had to start up the other engine once just to finish the turn, and I don't think that have tried it since.
    Oh, there is also an added bonus to shutting down the #2 engine, it means that the ramp agents could approach the aircraft without delay and get the plane offloaded asap.

      Ramp agent here. Absolutely fucking not.

      @@codygarland3246 737NG FO here, absolutely yes. We dump engine 2 asap and the moment we hit the brakes at the stand, crew runs up, and throws down the chocks. Before we even have the time to shut down engine 1, ground crew is already working.

    Thanks for for this. I'm also curious about a relight as taxing to the runway for takeoff. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! :)

      That'd be a normal crossbleed start then. I believe I covered it in some video already (but will check and if not then you can be sure it'll come soon!).

    Not a question related to single engine taxi; but for using the tiller steering during ground taxi, I can never seem to make those tight sharp turns e.g. used to backtrack the runway. Is this because I need to move the tiller slowly to the left/right in order to gain maximum turning or is it something to do with msfs' current ground physics and so pmdg cant add a proper ground steering model? or is it something else I am missing?

    Thanks for this. Seems to be an EGT bug on number 2 there as stayed quite high for a while. I'm surprised you can taxi without APU incase of generator problem on other engine resulting in nearly everything shutting off

      Need to check again in the real plane but it certainly doesn't quickly drop to zero in it.

      @@A330Driver It can also increase again after the core has spooled down as the residual heat distributes and there is no more cooling airflow over the probes.

    Hello, I recently started flying the PMDG 737-800 and all was good for the first few flights. I followed cold and dark tutorial from aviatonpro and was having a great time, until I encountered a caution in the bottom left of my PFD stating “CDS fault” I thought nothing of it to begin with but it then happened every flight blanking out the MCP and making me unable to start my engines, after landing I would turn on my APU but it wouldn’t turn on so I would lose all power when cutting off engines at the gate and be met with “CDS fault” again the MCP would blank out and the gnd call alarm would go of infinity… as a member of the PMDG tech team and a real life pilot could you help me out it has been giving me a headache and nobody else seems to have this issue 😅

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  ปีที่แล้ว

      As a real life Pilot it's easy:
      Call maintenance.
      If the fault is in white don't worry, if it's amber go home.
      Try to delete your panelstates, that's the most likely reason. If that doesn't help submit a support ticket.

    EMI, how do you manage to keep centerline after landing? I also have rudder pedals and I’m all over the place after touchdown…

    • @gregorybillingham1384
      @gregorybillingham1384 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might need to adjust the sensitivity of your rudder pedals. At the higher speeds of landing it sounds like your rudders are over sensitive and responding too sharp.

    I know you’re a member of the tech team, can you bring it up to pmdg to have the engine wiggle on the takeoff run and landing. This would add some realism to the aircraft.

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  ปีที่แล้ว

      Which engine wiggle would you mean? I can't quite follow you, sorry.

    • @DominicanRat83
      @DominicanRat83 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@A330Driver ok have you ever sat in that window seat by the engines? Have you ever seen during the takeoff roll and landing the engine does this little jiggly thing like it shakes just a little bit? Something kinda like what the tail does on the pmdg when it’s in park and engines are in full power, the engines don’t shake so hard but just a little thing. Maybe I can look for a video here on TH-cam showing what I’m talking about.

      @@A330Driver I think what is meant is movement on the pylon. Normally get it with wide bodies - not so much with narrow ones, although as suggested it would add an element. (The A310's engines do move this way)
