Is the larger size of these figures lore based, or is JoyToy increasing the sizes for the figure lines?

eventually they will be 1/16th scale not 1/18th

yeah sad joytoy f up the size they increase the size of primaries but they also make the of 30k the same size
so now the first born are chunky and better proposition than 40k

Yes, Terminators in general are bigger than the “regular” Space Marines, this particular style of armor was bigger than what they use today in 40K
