Where the river begins:

The Raft:
Jim LaMarsche makes the simpler things in our world look magical through his illustrations. A boy reluctantly visits his grandma in her lake house, and manages to have the best time. Though this book was written in this time and age, it could easily have been written a hundred years ago, no gadgets, no screens, only a connection with the world and its beings.

Thanks Divya, will talk about them too. I really like the artwork of Biscuit books, but my son doesn't care for them at all for some reason! Berenstein bears 5 minute stories is one of our favorites, but I think some stories are too preachy and outdated. "Dinosaur Dig" is a great one.

We love “the snail and the whale”, “room on the broom”, and “tyrannosaurus drip”. I really like Oliver Jeffers but my son hasn’t fallen in love with them as much as I thought

Hello vidya I absolutely love your videos I have a few book recommendations for you that I think your son would enjoy (The Highlights Book of HOW, and Americas National Parks by Alexa Ward :lonley planet kids publishing company.) stunning pictures of the national parks vibrant glossy pages and little animated illustrations along the way to draw children’s attention.

Firstly a huge thanks for the brilliant videos that you upload on your channel.
My query is -
Do you have any links for printable versions of the flash cards ( various subjects like fruits,animals etc ) so that I can get them printed on A4 sheet papers ?
I know I can google them to find good quality realistic images but the problem is my husband has moved to Dubai and am alone with the baby ( I moved be moving to Dubai in Feb 2022 ) but don't want to waste my time by not cashing in the time that I have now.
I really don't have time to sit and keep browsing for images.
Ive purchased books from the nearby store ( Priddy books which I noticed in one of your videos -my baby is in love with them ) but the flash cards in the store are big no no
Thanks Keerthi, I did not use flash cards much when my son was a toddler. But you find a variety of printables on "teachers pay teachers" or etsy. I personally use sites like "Chickie and Roo", "Rooted Childhood" "Fiddlesticks education" for printables and use a laminator for some of the frequently used resources.
If you want to introduce object recognition, figurines eg: by Safari ltd are a great option (once she stops putting small things in her mouth). We have many of those and they work great with Montessori style cards.
