I'm a Brit but I was born in Olomouc and I'm half Czech, half English! I love watching and hearing Czech videos because it helps me to learn and remember more Czech. I don't know much Czech, but when I'm there or speaking to my Babicka, I always surprise myself with how much I know. Thank you for sharing Czech culture and showing us Praha from a different perspective, it helps me to appreciate my heritage. You and Honest Guide are my favourite Prague/Czech TH-camrs!
Hi Helena, thanks for watching! My Grandmother used to speak Serbo-Croatian to her mother when I was little and when I finally made it to her village in Montenegro, my heart melted when I heard the language...even though I couldn't understand much. Actually, now when I go there, I can actually understand some things, just because of the Czech I've learned!

All turned out not to be true - the Czechs were super friendly and welcoming!
I'm Czech living in the UK and I was honestly very impressed by how massive the difference between Czech and UK was these past few months. While in Czech everyone was taking the situation seriously and masks were made mandatory, nothing at all was happening at the exact same time here in the UK. Zero concern, restaurants, pubs, clubs - everything was still open and people made fun of the whole situation, no one took it seriously. Even now you won't see a person wearing a mask. So yeah, big thumbs up to Czech, good job!

Hi Jenn, I enjoy your Dream Prague videos. My daughter moved to Prague several years ago from LA (via Edinburgh) to be with her Czech husband-to-be. They were to be married last summer but then the virus.....
I love your videos because they help me understand about life in the CZ and about Prague and about various local traditions.

Aw, thanks, Amy! This is been a rough time for everyone. And in a way, I'm thankful that we were quarantined elsewhere, so now when we come back to our own flat, it feels like true freedom.
@@DreamPrague although i can't still understand it. citizens of CR (and i think including foreigners like you) should have been able to come back (but i am not familiar with german restrictions although they had almost none for long time)...
Oh my Jenn I didn't realize you were in Germany thru most of this!! So happy you were able to get home even if it means quarantine for 14 days! Hi. I am stuck in New Jersey - voluntarily, till next March. It is nice to watch your channel. I feel like a foreigner myself to Czech when I am following everything there from a distance. The best was the part of the video from the highway. I traveled between Prague and Munich so many times in past. Even before the Schengen. I remember almost every turn there so seeing it was almost nostalgic. Have fun there.
What a great video! Our trip to CZ got postponed because of covid :( but hopefully we'll be able to go back in the fall :) Glad you guys made it back to Prague!

@@DreamPrague Rude or fake - another awesome video. Once (I´m talking about a 5-year-long story) I had a job in Nymburk (50 km from Prague) and I felt like an alien among the Czechs (another person confirmed to me that especially the Nymburk´s citizens are really close-minded to anybody from any other towns/cities/villages). I was supposed to accept I was something like silt there. When walking down Nymburk streets the only person that I made an eye contact with (plus greeting), was a Vietnamise one. (Once, on a bank holiday, my social life meant pronouncing 2 words and hearing the same 2 words a day ("Dobrý den" to the janitor at the place where I lived). - I agree there´s a big difference in the sound of English and Czech languages. The teachers should realize it more and teach it as a vital part of the language =boredom is a natural part of Czech and singing intonation is a crucial part of English , as vital as the realizing of differences in lexis, grammar... (even if sometimes it may cause issues - you know, I know a Czech citizen = English teacher = he took the above mentioned aspect of language teaching so seriously, he got a professional deformation by his serious attitude, so even when he was speaking Czech, he was being considered a gay :-) because of his melodical sound of Czech). - To sum it up, thank you for your new video. Your "Get a rope" line wouldn´t be acted better (even by Tom Hanks)! :-)

Doufám, že by mohly třeba vyjít nějaké reakce na české youtubery, nebo hry? Nebo třeba udělat dokument o tom, jak se daří Praze. Mega by mě to zajímalo :3

Glad to see your dream coming true and the Czechs starting to come out of this. I'm in England on the Scottish border, so I have two different sets of rules to follow depending on which road I take. Looking forward to things getting back to normal and being able to get back over there.

I have stumbled upon your channel by an incident (or mere luck) and I lke your comments and insights into the fellow Czechs (I originally half Czech and my wife is originally Slovak, but definitivelly are total Czechs, especially our kids, with all the ups and downs :o)). Keep up with your great work, I totally loved the series abotu Vyprávěj TV show, although getting all the references might be tough (even for the local younger people), so for me it is impressive how you "carrry your skin to market".

I miss Prague dearly and probably this year wount have holiday there, as we need 14 day quarantine there and then again 14 days in the UK. Either way any lovely video from Praque is amazing from you. I am learning more about my own country from you, even tho I am native 😄😄😄

I'm from the US, and I'm hoping to move to Prague in 2022 on the freelance visa. I'm moving to South Korea soon to work for a year there as an English teacher, and I saw that you were living in Japan before! I recently found out about the freelance visa and how it's a valid option for living and working and Europe, and I've since been studying Czech and falling in like with this place! I've loved seeing these videos. I like the idea of being able to make a home in Europe, since I think it's one of the best places for quality of life. I would love to see more videos about the logistics of living that Zivno life!
