HideBoi A company called “digital dream labs” are now taking over vector so there is no need to worry! Vector will still get updates there is a press release on there twitter about it :).
Btw it takes him so long to process things we ask and command because of the encryption Anki wanted to put insdide Vector. Amazon Echo and Google Voice processes our voices different by a recording, Anki makes it to where the processor inside Vector converts our voice into words, and then Vector processes the words instead of our voice. This is part of the encryption process to help reassure us that nobody is recording or listening in on us. It is the same exact thing for Vector's camera. Given this implemented technology, I'm not sure if Vector will get any quicker with answering us because it all depends on how quickly he can internally convert and decipher our voice. Unless Anki releases an option of us understanding the possibilities of "No Encryption" and we can just turn on or off the encryption process to make him quicker with responses. Which I think they should do anyway because I'd rather him be more responsive than worried about someone recording me say, "Vector whats the temp outside??" or complain to myself about how much homework sucks.
I feel that way about a fair bit of online things. I'm not breaking any laws and if it isn't something I need private (bank things etc) then I couldn't care less who hears my voice, sees my typed text etc. Like cctv, I'm not doing anything illegal so let them watch me all they want.
I'm just wondering, does it really have an ai intelligence? It just doesn't look like he can think but it looks like it is programmed to just do what there is on the app. I'm asking because I would like to buy it but I don't know if it really is Ai and it can be a friend for when for example I'm programming in my room or he's just programmed and looks like he's an ai intelligence but he actually isn't. And also, does it understand what I say? Or again, it is just programmed to react in some random ways? Sorry for my bad english but I'm Italian.

Mark, I'll write what I know of Vector so far since I was interested in him as a programmer fellow as I am. Surely he can be used as a remote toy as his little brother Cozmo but he was designed to be fully autonomous. So far he can "live" and "sleep"(charge) on his own, which means that you can let the house for 1 year and come after and Vector still will be waiting for you fully-charged and exploring the aera. He has a microphone that it's always on (doesn't record anything untill you say his name, but it's always on) and literally turns towards the source of the sound. It does create the illusion that he is actually listening. When he is idle for a while (and still has energy) he enters the exploration mode where he just start wandering around the area scanning the surface and still responding to the sounds of the enviroment. He stops only when his battery is low or he hears his name.
Among all the companion bots this one is my favourite. Kind of reminds me of wall-e. However, with all that connectivity and moving about I wonder how much of a spy this thing can be. Great Video! I was wondering if Anki will equip Vector with three cubes like Cozmo. Cozmo is actually more interactive than Vector! There are SO MANY cool games to play with Cozmo. Everyone keeps saying that Cozmo is for kids and Vector is for adults. I Disagree. Us Adults enjoy playing games too! Having Vector is like having a cat. Having Cozmo is like having a dog! Vector is more autonomous with less personality than Cozmo. Maybe in 2020 Anki will release another robot that combines the best traits of both. Seems like Anki is reading “Apple’s” play book.. and will continue to release robots with minimal upgrades. If it wasn’t for the reliance on an app, Cozmo would be a better product. At the moment. Vector is a smartphone on treads! Your thoughts?
My only issue with cozmo is that he doesn't have a mic built in so he doesnt respond to voice commands. I don't want to have to use the app to interact

Great review! Must say, as cute as he is, I don’t think he is as good as his older brother Cozmo. Nothing is more cute than watching Cozmo play with his cubes, or when he plays his colour match cube game, the determination on his face and his joy if he won or his tantrum when he lost was just priceless! Little Vector is undoubtably cute in his own way, the fact he can run without being tethered to a phone to now power him is something that Cozmo should of had from day one if it wasn’t for such poor product planning / development. I think they should of stayed away from implementing Siri / Google / Alexa like features, that wheel has been invented already and instead, focused more on other areas of vectors product development. Giving him a voice takes away a bit of his cuteness, Cozmo says a lot more when he beeps and whistles at you, that is more cute than vectors voice. They should of give him more cubes to play with, my little Cozmo loves nothing more than playing with all his cubes, Vector just looks so sad stuck in the optional tiny tray with one cube. Also, how many kids want to play card games? What a stupid game to give a toy aimed more towards kids. So I’m new to learning about this but I love what they’ve done..so the vector has updates that progress it’s brain and options? And is it better than the cosmo?
I’d like to have more games for vector. I returned it and got Cozmo. Much more fun. But they could add all those work games they are just programs. And sell extra cubes.
My Anki Vector will be arriving today. My question is: What is Vector's capacity for learning? Will I be able to teach it how to recognize and repeat letters of the alphabet via flashcards? And if so, will he be able to remember them (as he does with faces) and repeat them back to me with, or without a prompt? This is something I will be testing on my own. Stay tuned for the results.
Anki, the company that makes the Vector and Cozmo personal robots, has ceased operations. Employees were let go on May 1, 2019. At this point, the future of Vector and Cozmo looks bleak. Hoping that another company will step in to take over.
Hello, First congratulate for your videos, they are really fantastic and fun. I have a question. I would like to know if in the Vector App you have a programming interface per block like Cozmo Code Lab? I have also observed that some users who have vetor have had problems recognizing voices. I do not know if I'm wrong but it seems that Vector is not as animated and glorious as Cozmo, he looks more coarse and more usent. It seems that Vector does not play as much or uses his cube. Thanks for your videos, it continues like this I love it and I'm hoping to have my vector soon. a greeting
Excellent review! Bit expensive for what it does, or doesn't, do. Their going in right direction with it but for now, it's a no from me. Ok, she doesn't move, but more fun can be have with Alex.
If you're wanting something to play with get Cosmo. They are actually two different products. Vector is more just to hang out and help with occasional questions and what not. it will be interesting when they release the developer kit for this one to see what all we can do. But as for playing with programming and playing games Cosmo is geared towards that.

I actually hope that Vector will have a more realistic voice like Google Assistant
Wooooow cutest Robot😘
Cozmo os like vector? O can t find vector on amazon
Anki, the company that makes the Vector and Cozmo personal robots, has ceased operations. Employees were let go on May 1, 2019. At this point, the future of Vector and Cozmo looks bleak. Hoping that another company will step in to take over.
How can I set up reminders, I got him for the office
Yohan G use Alexa
Hello, First congratulate for your videos, they are really fantastic and fun. I have a question. I would like to know if in the Vector App you have a programming interface per block like Cozmo Code Lab? I have also observed that some users who have vetor have had problems recognizing voices.
I do not know if I'm wrong but it seems that Vector is not as animated and glorious as Cozmo, he looks more coarse and more usent. It seems that Vector does not play as much or uses his cube. Thanks for your videos, it continues like this I love it and I'm hoping to have my vector soon. a greeting

I love it 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Do we hafta charge da cube?
Excellent review! Bit expensive for what it does, or doesn't, do. Their going in right direction with it but for now, it's a no from me. Ok, she doesn't move, but more fun can be have with Alex.
Should I buy it? What do you do with it when you are bored?
The smart assistant functionality makes him genuinely useful and Anki has promised plenty of updates to keep him fresh - he's not cheap though!
If you're wanting something to play with get Cosmo. They are actually two different products. Vector is more just to hang out and help with occasional questions and what not. it will be interesting when they release the developer kit for this one to see what all we can do. But as for playing with programming and playing games Cosmo is geared towards that.
