      Thank you so much! The recovery was an easy yet fun ordeal, glad we got them out no problem. We hit snow at about 3,400 ft. but what made it that way for this time of year was all the snow being in the shade. • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and the support! The GC has been absolutely flawless with been incredibly efficiency for my daily work needs and weekend warrior trips (mileage and range). I will say that overall packing and gear management has been a little challenge with the lesser space compared to the Tacoma but overall I couldn't be happier with the transition. Either way you can't go wrong! The Tacoma will definitely give you more flexibility though if you choose an open bed, rack, canopy, camper, etc. options!

    Hey I saw you have the GSI pinnacle Pro. How are you liking it? I finally got to use mine last weekend on a trip and it did fine, but boil times were quite a bit longer than my old Coleman.
    Also, not sure if you mentioned this on your transition to a SUV rig, but had you looked into platform campers before getting rid of the truck? I'm in a 4runner and have been looking at trucks to see if I want to make the opposite move.
    Great location BTW, I haven't been camping around lake cle Elum before, I'll have to scope out some spots!

    • @Campchefmom

      I have multiple cooking options and for this trip it did very well. I use simmer a lot and it’s nice to have that capability. I also like the small footprint as I have much to pack with a 100 lb GS puppy and it stores very well. 😆

    • @jeepncj7
      @jeepncj7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Campchefmom - Good to hear! I built my low profile drawer/slide out tray system based on the small dimensions of the pinnacle pro, but have heard some negatives from folks using it longer than myself. Only drawbacks I have seen so far are the longer boil times (in relation to my old Coleman) and the right burner not always igniting. Otherwise I really like the small packing size as well.

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Before making the switch to the Jeep I had the Tacoma with a GFC (Go Fast Camper) and really enjoyed it! A truck platform by far will give you the most options in terms of build layouts (open bed, canopy, bed rack, campers, etc.). There really isn't too much of a downside in comparison to an SUV but more so of what works for you and your needs. Being that I do not travel full time the Jeep served much better as a daily commuter and weekend warrior vs. the 12 mpg truck fully loaded with all the gadgets and gear. Just have to find out what works for your and how often you plan to be out traveling. Hope that help though let me know if you have any other questions, cheers!

    • @jeepncj7
      @jeepncj7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ConquestOverland oh for some reason I thought you had the RTT instead of a GFC. It's a good perspective to hear, and something I'm struggling to find between capability, durability, efficiency, and price point. My old 4runner with all my gear gets around 19/20mpg on the highway which is not bad. But I am waiting for some type of hybrid that is still capable, but not incredibly expensive. The 4XE is really interesting, so I'm glad you are showcasing it here.

    • @ConquestOverland
      @ConquestOverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeepncj7 I've had a few different setups over the years with a soft shell RTT, hard shell RTT, the GFC, and now an iKamper... haha. All have had their pros and cons depending on the vehicle it was on and overall use. I hear you on the balance of a vehicle and setup, for me the Jeep was just that! Can I rock crawl in it, no.... but that's not why I bought it. Here in the PNW most of the roads are all forest service or fire roads that are relatively tame in difficulty so I personally do not need a robust setup to tackle that type of terrain. Go to Moab and of course that's completely different. At the end of the day the 4XE is perfect for using electric only M-F for work and then switch to hybrid with an extended range on the weekend all while having plenty of tech, luxury, and capability. With Toyota just releasing the 4th Gen Tacoma I'm sure they are already in the works for the next gen 4Runner as well, might be something to consider either way. Have fun our there and safe travels!
