been a big fan since the early days, grateful to have met them in '90 on Trouble's self titled album and again in '94 for 'Manic Frustration' tour, got a signed poster from then, played pool in the bar in S.F on Broadway st. with the band before they played the show that night. R.I.P Barry Stern and Eric Theodore Wagner. Sorely missed and never forgotten. also have a copy of this absolutely stellar EP. Love the opening number 'Goin Home' I hope it gets played at my Funeral
Thank you Trouble for your doom style unique sound. A fan since Psalm 9. RIP to one of the most unique voices in doom Eric Wagner. You will be missed brother.
first heard these guys in the 9th grade in pomona ca. (1983) big influence on my musical tastes. funn thing was the home made cassette that had trouble on 1 side wast even what i got the tape for. there ws some moody blues stuff on the a side this girl i was into wanted me to listen to. i ended up listening to side b over and over again. had no clue when the girl asked me aboiut side a . she got mad , wanted tape back . i said nope ... mine now . beat up her homeboy about it and played the shit out of that side b for about 10 years til it fell apart. ... gods of fucking doom ... rip Eric!!!!!!
One of my top 10 desert island albums. since its release. i never tire of it, pure heartfelt doom n' roll perfection, with a druggy/psych edge, yet catchy as hell. Barry stern was one heck of a drummer (that includes Zoetrope!). Eric Wagner was beyond unique. and oh, the riffs the riffs the riffs! ...i believe this is probably what Metallica had in mind when they started writing 'the black album'. but you know how the saying goes: 'you're only as good as your drummer'!
and their drummer sucks big balls compared to Barry Stern.. or Jeff Oly. These guys (Trouble) make that other band look pitiful. I know em and they suck. This band had way more going for em. Imo.
I've loved TROU LE since I heard there cover of The Beatles Come Together & The Assassin on a Best Of Metal Blade (1985?) .That Sound Of their guitars is so F'n HEAVY it moved the planet! Missed them on their 1990 tour with Danzig.in Vegas & I've been kicking my own ass for it 31 years for it.. R.I.P. Eric Wagner, you are missed! And if you are reading this Jimmy O/Daffy Dude, I want my Psalm 9 and The Skull cassettes back, bro. lol Peace 🤘
Window Pain was re-recorded on the Lid album (much slower) and 3 of the others were on Plastic Green Head. As far as I know Doom Box hasn't been re-recorded..is that right?
RIP. ERIC WAGNER 😢🎼🇦🇹
loved them from the beginning! a part of my soul forever.....
