    Great video Richard, assume you sorted that mud guard rubbing on phils massey, good to see Frank and Billy on Film , the Millkman must of been tall. Still not cleaned his van out. Nice little herd you got Richard.

    Friday was a shite day, heavy rain Thursday night and drizzle and mucky all day. You know if you make your workshop bigger you'll only fill it with more junk. I think its bred into men to hoard in they're shed or garage. Great video Richard.

    Spend a bit on that digger and you will have as good a machine as any. If you do go the 2015 doosan route, its a dpf out job and remap I believe, lots were sold cheap due to blocked dpf, cheap fix on them though.

    Gutted the little calf didn't pull through, but overall your heards looking fit and healthy. Not bad for a Rough Old Farm in East Yorkshire. 👍

    Great video as always. I still think if the power s that be tock a foot of mud and crap out the bottom of the rivers and streams it would keep all the waters moving and save alot of floods . Cattle are looking well

    Very sorry to hear about the lost calves, mind the lousey weather doesn't help. You should be proud of your pedigree Herefords and the Netherhall ( Australian Wirruna ) genetics are doing well. Keep to the native breed route, don't go down the ever bigger different breed continental line. Most importantly heifers want to have small to medium size calves which grow well. There is lots of variation in genetics across the Hereford breed and trying some different lines ( perhaps traditional Herefords on heifers and other genetics ( e.g. Mawarra )on older cows would be good. Get some good advice from different Hereford breeders first as they will be helpful. Very best luck and keep up the good work. Cheers Paul.

    I'm most surprised at just how good those fodder beet look following that sharp cold spell. Also your cleaner loader is doing a really good job for you. Is this a potential crop to replace at least part of the loss from stopping growing OSR? also on the plus side of things it gives you a good chance to hammer blackgrass infestations but has the risk of severe soil structure damage and being forced to follow it with a spring planted crop. Regards, Dan

    Ultimately; 100 Hereford cows, 500 acres of cereals, 100 acres permanent pasture on the heavy land and 100 acres of fodder beet, 2 year ley and maize as your break crops... Forget OSR for good.

    • @antonylane2837
      @antonylane2837 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      ...100 acres divided between the aforementioned break crops

    Good video.
    Sucklers here for ever and dad before me and we still lose them. No rhyme nor reason to it either sometimes. Just plain old bad luck. Always some expert in FW or the like that says they get 100% as well if you believe them.🤔

    Think a lot of farmers will be taken the job of keeping water course’s clear of tree’s etc on The E A won’t be doing it in the near future. Fodder beet look good after going over cleaner

    Go for an easy calving Charolais (they do exist) can’t go wrong simmy on a Hereford would turn out too thick set too much bone in a simmy and bad kill out %

    Just call it health and safety work, trumps anything to do with needing a felling license. Funny how if a tree falls over and kills someone it’s the land owner’s fault for lack of due care and not the forestry commission.
