I'm Puerto Rican and African and i have braidlocs. They would've gave me a two-strand twist but my hair texture wasn't made for that which I understand but watching my braids mature into dreads is a very interesting process. I officially started on October 29th, 2019 so it hasn't been that long although slowly buy surely I see a difference

We been had mixed people with dreads what are talking about? Bob Marley (who was biracial) was the poster child for dreads.
I grew up hearing the word mulatto being used to call me. Only when I became a teenager did I research the word and learned a lot more. I'm multiracial with Cherokee, Powhatan, African and European. I love my hair

I didn’t know that word was racist as you live you learn. But Right of the beginning of the video I began to laugh. My grandma {Rip} had some deep blue eyes. And none of us got them. But thank goodness We all got the Nose lol. One of my sons have brown eyes like my wife but them blue or green eyes on a mixed person is always a weakness for me. I'm not mixed but ppl have asked, especially when my curls were hella long. "You got Indian in yo blood huh" 😂my parents are Black. But both of my grandmothers are all mixed up, they could "pass" as something other than Black, but have only identity as Black.
I love mi silky locs. I used a crochet needle to start them. It keeps my hair from curling & unraveling. The frizz is mad man. I have so much frizz and loose fine hairs that refuse to lock. I can make new smaller locs with my frizz 😩 Every once and in awhile I crochet the lose hairs into mi locs. But I'm super low maintenance idc anymore 😂🤷🏿♂️

I am mixed as well. Cape Verdean & Puerto Rican 50/50. Im the only female with my hair texture in my fam (4A). Im an 80 baby so my hairs been through it growing up. As an adult thou I have fully embraced my hair and I'll be celebrating my

I'm Mexican and Nordic, I've seen free form locs on both sides of my family. I've been growing my hair for 2 years and get it braided, my question is will locs be thicker than my braids? Because I have thicker hair but when I get it braided it gets thinner. TIA

I’m mix and I did twist and rip I tired 2 strand twist and finger coils the finger coils would unravel and the twist would take to long to lock so I did twist and rip
I had a congo that was forming but it was at such an awkward location behind my head that made it uncomfortable to sleep. Like this bad boy was going to be MASSIVE. I had to cut it down to the root and seperate😭 it also had to be with two that are already super thick. Couldn't do it lol😔

What colour you are doesn’t matter about anything, Where your from doesn’t matter, as long as you have tight natural curls (kinky) locking will come stop worrying people !
Just be patient follow steps : -
stop brushing, hands + water. Shampoo and go.
Have had a lot of bull myself over hair that can naturally lock up and having tight curly hair being fellow that happens to be Caucasian, uk.
Constantly have to explain to even hairdressers that my great gran was from Belgium and her father was from Israel.
It doesn’t matter we’re all beautiful don’t obsess over where your from how you look.
Just be patient follow steps : -

Love who you are, live a full life and stop worrying so much about how your hair looks, just go for what you want and be free in the thought your kick ass and beautiful.

I'm super mixed and I've recently been wandering what I'd look like with locks but as a really mixed dude I've been worried how folks in the black community around me would react especially with all this racial divide in recent years. To be clear I am half black but I'm also japanese and white and I look like I'm either Samoan/Hispanic so I don't want folks lookin at me strange. Any advice anyone?

Loving the video, im multiracial/mixed with african/aruban an european scandinavian an have had dreadlocks of an one since i was 15 up to about 4 years ago as a way to feel close to my ancestry, i got alopecia so had to cut them of to treat my scalp:/ but got partials now an planing on trying to do ful set again soon 😁
Also as a kid both adults as kids jn my neighbourhood, including from some family on my mothers side would use the term mulato when talking about me or other kids who wernt as they would describe it fully white. It was def a slur in my neigbourhood / area ( im from the netherlands )
