If you ever want to add some more fabric types to your "short" project there is also hemp, nettle and ramie jersey out there. I made myself some undershirts out of a hemp cotton jersey, but I also don't mind texture. I know most people think wool is hard to wash, but I just throw mine into the washing machine using the wool wash cycle. If I don't have enough wool to wash I just throw other clothes in that just need a light wash or are a bit more sensitive.

That was an option for sure. Being level zero though they have so little at their disposal. Gotta love meat grinders!
