    Uber eats should recommend this video in their training videos! What an excellent resource!! I knew next to nothing about taxes in NZ so this was incredibly helpful, thank you!

    Good video, cheers for clearing some things up especially regards to the mileage vs expenses aspect and also the ability to change if needed. I also use Hnry and find it helpful in that they do the tax stuff for you.

    Hey bro love your content, just be real careful with your understanding on the mileage claim. The 14,000km Tier 1 portion is the first 14,000km the car has travelled in total, including private use. An example would be if you travelled 11,000km business use and 3,000km private use in the first 14,000km. You can only claim 11,000km at 83c. All other business use is at the lower Tier 2 rate. Hope that helps.

    Hey bro, I'm currently doing an electrical apprenticeship and I want to make some money on the side doing uber eats. If I use hnry, will I always owe the IRD money at the end of every tax year? I'm used to receiving some sort of tax return rather than owing the IRD money at the end of the tax year. Would love to hear what you recon!!!

      Good question tbh. If I were you I think the best thing would be to schedule a call with hnry and see what they say. It’s free, and they’ll be able to answer your question 10x better than I could

    Hey Jack, awesome video. Just a quick question; you could claim $13,000 on mileage alone. But in the end you only were able to claim just under $8,000 bringing your taxable income to $22,000. How does that work?

    • @jackhammmond
      @jackhammmond  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I decided to claim a % and think the rates could have been different last year. Regardless I think I made a mistake and left money on the table. I will try to get it right when I file my tax return this year haha. Good question! (Sorry I'm only replying now)
