I was about half a mile from the end of the runway on a hill at Cribbs Causeway directly in line as it took off that day, it flew directly over my head at what seemed like no more than 3 or 4 hundred feet above me, the noise was deafening and I can still remember the smell of aviation fuel as it rained down on me like a fine mist, a day I will never forget.
It wasn't a High speed taxi run we all knew it was going to fly that day ... I knocked off school in the afternoon and was on the shed roof waiting for it to fly over ... and that is what it did ... I still remember that day in perfect detail ... So So Cool :) If it wasn't due to fly why were there so many press etc at Filton & Fairford ... they weren't there for the Taxi Runs ;)
When I was a very young boy four or five years old I was in my school playground when I heard this loud noise and this magnificent display of aircraft flew over out our playground it was amazing sight for a little boy. I didn't know what it was at the time, but I'm wondering if it was concorde first flight or something. there was one aircraft that was different to the surrounding aircraft I'm guessing it was Concord in the middle surrounded by some military aircraft from the RAF could this be true is that what I saw was concorde when I was a little boy way back in '69.

Two and a half years old, stood behind the wire fence with my grandad who worked for BAC - SO loud before the baffles were installed.

I would never mount this plane in 1969 that's scary
Little did they know ...
54 years later I would lick that exact plane 💀
