- Project Dream is about bringing back the Nintendo 64 games Banjo-Kazooie & Banjo-Tooie back to life through a series of nostalgic cinematic trailers.
Mumbo's Mountain is the first of nine worlds in Banjo-Kazooie. The entrance to this level is located just to the right of the entrance to Gruntilda's Lair. The puzzle is conveniently located right next to the world's entrance beyond a small fenced area and only requires one Jiggy to complete. This is the first world to introduce Mumbo Jumbo.

I totally agree! Banjo-Kazooie (and I'd even say Tooie as well) is begging for a modern remake/remaster. The Crash and Spyro ones were glorious! It would be a great way to bring Banjo back and possibly pave the way for a new entry much like Crash 4 did.

Patience, buddy! It's not like this person doesn't have plans to release these maps in a pack for us to play around in the UE with. Imagine a ctf gamemode set in Gruntilda's Lair. The chaos would be un manageable, but I was envisioning that each level has its own team color scheme, and the flag itself will be placed in the center of the hubworld, just to balance it out.
IE: Blue team will be located in Freezeasy Peak.
Red team will be Mumbo's Mountain
Green team is Click Clock Woods
And so on...
I'm telling you, man! As long as this wildly talented fan artist doesn't die on us, the potential here is limitless. This will probably branch out into something that will catch a lot of attention from the old Rare team.
Like I said before, buddy, I have all the patience in the world.
Here I thought this was a real game remastered but alas is not. So accurate to the original while giving this a modern facelift it's unreal! No wonder this channel is called Project Dream because a Banjo/Kazooie remaster done in this style would be a dream come true.
I don’t care what anyone says about it looking “too realistic.” This still is awesome.
I genuinely think the use of the original polygonal models being blended with realistic details is THE way to do this type of artstyle. Yooka Laylee and other modern platformers look comparable to plastic across the entire visual board, but THIS to me is how to make it work. It screams "this is how we perceived these visuals back in '98" which is something we absolutely have not seen attempted in the industry yet

I tried to up the more 'stylized' appearance of this one with the original N64 geometry with some updated assets to give it that little bit of polish.. It tries to blend the cartoony aspect of the original game with modern graphics..
I think it would help if these recreations looked a bit more cartoony.

I'm not sure if this is too much to ask but in the distant future I wanna see character animation with them just pacing around but every thing else is absolutely magnificent

Nostalgia's hitting me hard here with this one. It's immediately bringing me back to playing Banjo-Kazooie for the first time and exploring Mumbo's Mountain; getting a feel for the game and being in awe of all the new discoveries and such. Great times, man.

this game takes me back to a happier time in my life. Things were so simple as a kid. I'll never be as happy as I was as a 7-year-old kid playing Banjo Kazooie.

Christmas 98, mate. I was 11 and got banjo and ocarina for Christmas. That was my main 2 presents. I was one of four so games weren’t cheap but man I played them to completion. My bro got me the rumble pak. I was so excited because when 12am rolled round, me mum had said you can have your games now. I remember back then, holding a game you’d read about in magazines, saw screens and full features of in theee publications got you super excited! Holding those cardboard n64 boxes in your hand, they felt heavy, sturdy and more robust than plastic which is weird to think. The build quality of the package was sublime, even down to the new game smell once the cellophane had been unwrapped. I remember I was allowed to have the rumble pak when me bro came back from the pub just after midnight and experiencing feedback for the first time. It was a magical time. I remember it like it was yesterday in the front room. It felt like a big deal coz I stayed up till 1ish which was a big thing for me. Man, life’s good. Most the time but I agree with you Benjamin. Life was fucking awesome when I was a kid growing up on the snes/n64 and GameCube. Makes it all the more poignant and sad that me mum is now gone. Such is life.

I just replayed this game a few days ago & beat it on my old N64. I'm playing Banjo Tooie as I write this. They need to start making N64 games again. I miss them so much.

I remember playing at my friends house in middle school and the sound of talon trot pissed of my friend's dad and he started like hitting my friend when Kazooie was making the noise. I honestly still don't know if it was a joke or not.

@@ricln5464 Because Microsoft barely ever, if not never uses the ip. More people remember it on the N64 than on Xbox consoles. The Switch version of a remake if one ever happens would most likely sell more than the Xbox version. And Banjo is in Smash Bros now

Cuphead and Ori are on the Switch because they aren't Xbox IP's.
Ori is publish by Xbox but not made by them
Cuphead it's a third party game that was release as a time exclusive on Xbox.
The only 2 times that Xbox ACTUALLY release an Xbox game on Switch are Quake and Banjo (emulated original, not even the remaster). Both 2 old, VERY old games.
Killer Instinct for Xbox one. Originally a Nintendo game, only on Xbox.
Rare Replay, many games here are ex Nintendo Exclusives. Only on Xbox.
Stop expecting Microsoft to release games on Switch.
They only release they'r VERY OLD games to make new fans so that they can then buy an Xbox or subscribe to gamepass.

@LoneStranger089 they are pretty quiet aye.. only game in so many years is sea of thieves.. a solid game after a lot of patches but still nothing like they were with Nintendo!

I’m not exactly sure how the gaming industry works but I’m guessing some guys work on graphics while other work on programming so if that’s how it works then this guy could definitely get a job working in the graphics department!
Banjo Kazooie is and always will be my favourite game ever. And this is amazing and really brings back all those great memories of playing the first game. Incredible job!

I absolutely respect the craft, effort, and vision it takes to make these kinds of things. Thank you for sharing this and I hope you continue to hone your craft to do whatever you aim to accomplish.
Now, that said, what these concepts usually represent to me is an overuse of tech to create something that looks entirely overproduced and shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what the source material was going for. There are many more proofs on TH-cam just like this that give off that same, almost soulless visual revamp of classic games they cover. From Mario to Zelda, the list goes on. Even Rare wasn’t immune to this trap with the uncanny off-putting look of Nuts and Bolts. Bafflingly, it took Nintendo with Smash Bros to bring us proper looking Banjo-Kazooie character models to the modern era. Which, thankfully, you used as a basis for your BK models.
I understand that this is just a proof of concept. And it is absolutely impressive on a technical level and leagues beyond what the original N64 could ever hope to have accomplished. However, I’d take the original N64 visuals any day over this. As the saying goes, sometimes less is more.
YianniPapazis remake of OOT, he knows how to remake a game and keep the stylized feel.
Do Gruntilda's lair next! I would love to see some beautiful textures when we explore every room and atrium throughout. Mumbo's Mountain looks amazing with fine new textures. That would be great to know how well you pull that off.😁

It's only the first 8 seconds into the video, and I am already electrified with nostalgia! You really are a pro. I mean, who could ignore how convincing your remastered maps are? I am jokingly thinking that you are Chris Sutherland's son, or something. I haven't been able to find one Rare fan who has put this much effort into reviving Banjo Kazooie and Tooie, like this.
Last thing I want to say, is that I am hanging tightly onto the hopes that, once you are finished with remastering every map from Banjo Kazooie, and Tooie, we can all run around freely in these remastered maps. It doesn't have to be the game itself. We would be happy if you released the maps as something for us to run around in 3rd or first person in the Unreal Engine. Something, like that. It would really hold us until something bigger were to happen.
No rush, though, buddy! Keep up the fantastic work. I'll be patiently anticipating that day when the gates finally open. 🥂
