OMG fabulous. Except for the roti and rice all other things are new to me. A typical south Indian wedding will have four course mean- plain white rice would be served with Thick spicy tamarind sause (Kolambu), Spicy dal (sambar), thin tamarind soup (rasam) and curd (plain yougurt). This would be accompanied by several vegetables, fried items and sweets. BTW do they serve non-veg and alcohol for wedding and receptions?

That was something very unique which I have never seen in Indian weddings. Also it seems you and your mother seem to have a prominent role in the rituals while your dad and brother took a back seat!!! Again in Indian weddings it is the other way round. The bride's father, the groom's father and the bride's brother perform most wedding customs while women just help them do those things.
