Hi. We purchased these plans today. Bought all the Lumber and cut all the pieces and assembled them exactly as was written. We ran into two issues: #1 - way more than 15 slats are needed for the seating area (rewatching the video I see you actually used 19) #2 - the end piece that includes the armrest (pieces A and B) when assembled were a good 1 3/4inches too wide due to B being 31inches long (when the couch is supposed to be only 30inches deep total) Don't get me wrong I love your videos - I'm just super frustrated after working all day on this that I couldn't finish due to these mistakes in the plans. hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to learn about build furniture plans try Jadonite Wood Blueprints Buddy (just google it ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my partner got excellent success with it.
You should have your own show on HGTV you're a natural knowledgeable, skilled, funny, and great relaxed voice for viewers. Never seen anyone make a chair like you do and turn it upside down and do a full body swing from the leg without it coming off!!! Radical!!!!!
You are rolling the dice for serious kickbacks by cutting your boards with the scrap between the saw blade and the rip fence. Great project and use of construction lumber. Keep up the cool projects and be safe.
That sofa is good enough to be indoors....I still want that projector lol. LG taking that coffee table is def a compliment to the work and to your style man. Still one of the best maker channels on youtube
I have no tools and no skills to do any kind of carpentry but your videos are a source of viewing pleasure, education and inspiration. Keep up the excellent work!
Depends on how you see it. Trade marking laws are different out there. Wouldn't be surprised to see another idea or "almost alike" being sold somewhere in the world.
Not even halfway through this video and I'm blown away! Have been looking for design ideas for a memorial bench for my best friend, and this has really inspired me! Thank you!
I had seen your original chair video and loved it. A few months later and I run into this video... Great work. You've inspired me to start making my own, quality made, outdoor furniture for my patio. Keep up the great work!
Brother, I just have to thank you for a number of reasons. First, your energy and delivery is straight up positive and refreshing. You actually had me up in here by myself laughing. The second; I don't get to see Brothers on here talking about anything positive, or doing anything positive. Another reason, I like building things. And seeing how you do what you do gives me so many inspirations. So, I hope you keep'em coming...
Because you are so kind and you share awesome tips on your craftsmanship I want to try and help you out with that mosquitoes problem. There are some plants that might help you out. Since that's an outdoor furniture you you might find it easy, sustainable and kind of pretty for your lovely household something like geraniums , calendula officinalis, lavender, rosemary, basil or lemon grass. That will reduce the mosquitoes problem even with all the light from the projection. Thanks to your awesome tips. May you be very blessed. ,
First, your daughter is WAY too cute. Design is really great. To know this is your 3d design shows some great forethought. Again, learned a lot watching your video.
Another job well done. Strong/sturdy... well built. Don't forget an economical solution for clamps (as far as clamps go) is pipe clamps. They don't look as sexy... but they work well and are great for that long span. I love stain for color and so I can see the wood grain. The best protection for outdoor use is latex acrylic (house) paint. It's built for UV, rain, etc. It is far superior protection than stain and poly or whatever clear you use for protection over stain. Again... well done. That is a great looking, strong and durable piece of outdoor furniture you built there. Thanks for sharing! Best to you and yours.

As usual, I love your projects! I just finished making a little larger version of your folding leg work table you popped out all those push-ups on! I just made mine a little longer and wider, and 2 inches taller. It is a little heavier than I thought it would be but it is exactly what I needed. Great job on the DIY modern outdoor sofa! The step-by-step instructions were super clear, and I love how you showed the entire process, from cutting the wood to the final assembly. The design looks sleek and sturdy perfect for any backyard. Definitely inspired to try this out myself! 🙌🛠
Glen, another awesome build man. I was wondering what took so long for this video to pop up. Looking forward to the other videos in this series; planter and umbrella. You may want to plant lemongrass, marigold flowers, and/or lavender or some other natural mosquito repelling plants in that planter and around the patio.
Lemon grass is nice, but this year I'm going to try this idea that I saw on you tube, where a guy uses large fans with screens on them and many people in the comments mentioned how well it worked
Had to leave a comment. Great video, I’m a carpenter as well, but other then building a fish tank stand for my 50 gallon tank I’ve never tried building any furniture. Glen, thank you for posting this and providing great plans for me to follow. As a beginner weekend woodworker, I learned a ton through the process and am proud of my results. Hi. We purchased these plans today. Bought all the Lumber and cut all the pieces and assembled them exactly as was written.
We ran into two issues:
#1 - way more than 15 slats are needed for the seating area (rewatching the video I see you actually used 19)
#2 - the end piece that includes the armrest (pieces A and B) when assembled were a good 1 3/4inches too wide due to B being 31inches long (when the couch is supposed to be only 30inches deep total)
Don't get me wrong I love your videos - I'm just super frustrated after working all day on this that I couldn't finish due to these mistakes in the plans. Please correct the issue for future purchasers.
