When "Interestellar" started production, there was no picture of what a black hole looked like. Christopher Nolan brought in renowned physicist Kip Thorne to help develop Gargantua. They used equations and physics to create what was shown on screen and the result was the most detailed model of a black hole we saw on film up to that point. Fast forward to 2019 and humanity was finally able to see what a black hole looks like for the first time. The images shown looked very similar to what was seen in "Interstellar".
Cooper did *NOT* know that there was no way back. He was deceived like everyone else. But Murph was so resentful of him for leaving that she wanted to believe that he had deliberately abandoned her to save himself. That's not fair of her, but it's the reaction of a broken heart. 😟
As usual @EOM Reacts , one of the best reactions to one of the greatest movies in the past 30 years, and you do so magnifically. Absolutely fantastic reaction. The best I've seen for Interstellar. Love is the way. P.S the movie Gravity with Sandra Bullock is also really good, not quite as good as this but above average for sure.
To be fair, its telegraphed really early in the movie, and if you hadn't guessed it by the end, certainly when Michael Caine is asking (and his character had to have known it was Coop doing it the entire time by that point) about how Coop got the coordinates to the NASA base is a dead giveaway when Murph/Coop talk about a gravity anomaly in their bookshelf (which sounds weird lol)
We love you too J. This movie is a hard watch for people with as much empathy as you have, but it is a beautiful, emotional masterpiece, and worth the pain to experience it's greatness. ♥♥
EVERY SINGLE TIME, this movie makes me cry. I almost start to cry when he’s like “make him stay Murph, make me STAY!! NO!! NO!!” She was so brave and had so much faith. When I break down is when she said “Because my daddy said he would.” You’re right, his movie is so hard for everyone, hard and difficult decisions. It’s a tough and beautiful movie. I love that you kept every character’s journey in mind, and then called TARS the GOAT because he got the data and is the only reason it would go through. I love that you called it from the start that he was her ghost. It still makes me cry every time. AMAZING REACTION!!
I just put it together that Event Horizon is the first movie (or at least the first I saw) that used the folded paper analogy to demonstrate wormholes like this movie did, and he's watching it wednesday. Two very different space movies, no doubt.

You are just the best. I loved this reaction, and you were more perceptive than anyone I’ve ever seen with the material. Loved your emotion at the end. I agree. This is an unbelievably spectacular film. Thank you for this!
I am with you on the emotion this movie brings forth. One of the greatest movies ever made in my opinion. Almost wish they had release a sequel but am honestly glad they left the masterpiece as it was.
Of the hundreds of movies I’ve watched and of the dozen or so that I consider my favorites, Interstellar is at the top of the list. I’m glad you got around to this one!
I was in college when my dad took me to see this. I was so mad, like who wants to see a 3 hour movie 🙄 I was in there trying to hide my tears because I had complained too much to show that I actually enjoyed it 😂
When you really think about it, the heart of this movie is about a Father's Love For His Daughter. All of the science fiction and time travel just surrounds that fact. When Nolan asked Hans Zimmer to create the music, he asked him to write the main theme music, that slow piece that's playing right at the end, about Zimmer's own love of his son. So that's why that music resonates so much, it's about a Father's Love for their child.
What he sent back to Murph was equation on gravity and how to move massive object/space station from the ground. For me this is in a top 3 movies ever.
And that same quantum data was with TARS when he went back with Cooper to Brand, the human descendants from their colony advanced further and faster and were the beings who placed the wormhole off Saturn. Why Saturn? a Nolan nod to 2001, Kubrick didn't have the fx (after many tries) to copy the book, so changed it to Jupiter. There are so many nods to 2001, the most obvious been TARS.
Christopher Nolan knows how to get your emotional investment so intense….. when the catharsis finally arrives….it is absolutely shattering! Great reaction! ❤
Love this film! Emotional and awe-inspiring, especially at the cinema. I remember seeing this in IMAX and feeling the chairs shake like crazy when they went through that wormhole.
This movie is an absolute masterpiece. It f**ks me all the way up, it’s beautiful and utterly terrifying too. Makes me scared to be alone, I mean, truly alone.
All of that dust reminds me of the real-life "Dust Bowl" era of the 1930s (sure didn't help with the Great Depression going on). Look at that up. In this movie, something like that happened in addition to other things. We're talking about something that could eventually end life on Earth, or at least civilization.
It was meant to resemble that exactly. Down to the baseball team. Back in the depression days the major league teams would travel from town to town playing Games to earn a living. So, in this movie they had the NY Yankees playing in this small rural farming town. It was supposed to be a carbon copy of the Great Depression

I feel that Interstellar and Oppenheimer really mirror the other. One about a dying future looking for prosperity. The other about a past that didn't realize what it had creating a more cynical future. Oppenheimer is a heavy on dialogue with an amazing visual. Interstellar is full of visuals with one especially powerful dialogue scene. Robert J is looking into the micro of cellular science vs the other exploring the cosmos. Science saving us vs dooming us in one vs the other. I could be overthinking this or there may be more but either way that's a great double feature.

I think it was more emotionally draining the second time. The first time, I was just baffled about what I had just seen. Coming out of the cinema was like stepping off a rollercoaster, after your ride is finished. Incredible.
The video clips of the older people were interviews done with survivors of the dust bowl that happened in the 1930s. Their description of what life was like for them matched up perfectly with the situation in the movie.

Just a bunch of stuff I can't and don't really need to explain).
But this movie and The Fountain are almost a spiritual journey then watching a movie.
Thank you for helping me get through tuff times too. Mean that. Now go and rub you puppies belly, and tell me there are not things that are good in this world that you don't ever want to give up on.
The Fountain is a hidden gem.
I think it was more emotionally draining the second time. The first time, I was just baffled about what I had just seen. Coming out of the cinema was like stepping off a rollercoaster, after your ride is finished. Incredible.
This movie blew me away. And still does. It's so deep I cry every time I watch it.
The video clips of the older people were interviews done with survivors of the dust bowl that happened in the 1930s. Their description of what life was like for them matched up perfectly with the situation in the movie.
You were composed much more than expected. Then I realize that it hits way different on rewatch.
Well, Cooper is 124 years old in Earth time. In his time, he's only a couple of years older than when he left.
Sir, when you said "he's the ghost"...the gasp I gusped! You nailed it sooo early in the movie. It took me a while to figure that out. And F Matt Damon!! (only in this movie, though lol)
Was fortunate enough to see this on the IMAX screen at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn on opening weekend.
Not only was I totally invested (like J), seeing it on that size of screen was incredible.
This is one of the best reactions to Interstellar that I have ever seen. Thank you.
Great reaction man! I believe you will watch it again…I have watched Interstellar over 70 times and I watch every TH-cam reaction to it. 😅
That was so much fun!! 😄😄👍👍 "Space Uber" 🤣🤣
Dam great reaction. You are making me teary eyed
