To clear up the confusion, this is the voice that often gets mistaken for a guy called Oswald Lawrence - including by Oswald’s widow in a story that is often repeated on social media. The voice heard today at Embankment erroneously attributed to Oswald is in fact Peter Lodge seen here, as confirmed by several members of his family over the years.
(it sounds different with him speaking it as this news report was recorded about 20 years after he first did the announcement)

    • @cameronyoungcg9270

Starting in the 90s, the trains themselves have an alarm (the rapid beeping noise) which sounds before the doors close. The announcement, therefore, is redundant.
