What sucks is the ending is honestly great and intense up until the dad falls out of the helicopter. You have the sibling battle, but then she saves Faith twice (showing that she does love her). But then you have the flattest, most anti-climactic ending after that. There's this Huge buildup...and then nothing. It honestly feels like there was meant to be DLC or something...but where is it??
Yeah when i finished the game i definitely thought that there would be more a lot more to the story, im geussing they probably planned to have maybe another game or some dlc to follow it up, but due to the lack interest it got they didnt bother with it, which is super sad tbh
This is the prequel. Now the next game either will be a prequel's sequel, or will be the sequel after 1st Mirror's Edge game, but that means they will introduce Callaghan and that would be a bit too early, since she's the final boss of the series and she should be fight after all things were settled up.
ThunderC00kie Did you played the 1st game? It's nothing like that, final boss is not him, her sister is not brainwashed, many things are different.. Originally this was a prequel...but is not considered that anymore, and this is very strange.
There is no possible way this is a prequel, since Faith's friends and family are all replaced and Glass is completely remade to be more futuristic. No Kate, no Merc, no Jacknife, no Celeste, no nothing. So this is not a prequel, it definitely is a reboot, since the games story was changed almost 100%.
programmer: "so, how do you want your final boss fight famalang?" director: "oh gee, just make the player jump around 2 goons or something, i dont really care"
I don't actually mind that. "Boss fights" are kind of a pointless throwback to platform games anyway. In games like this it's kindof like "man, I've been doing all these quests for 30 hours and now I have to play a big boss fight as well?" Games like these just need to finish the story satisfactorily, boss fight or not.
There are some things that need to understandable. Rebecca should've told Faith her backstory because she had a husband and two sons who were killed during the November Riots while she was helping Erika. Alina, the director of Elysium, should reveal more of backstory of the November Riots, I Reflection would've had a better explanation. If it all added up, the whole story is revealed (unless you wanted to skip the story and do parkour) and They should've let us fight Kruger and Cat. Plus, it'll be really nice to see Noah training Faith to run fight and other memorable moments of him after (SPOILERS) he died, which it would make so phenomenal. The one thing, ONLY ONE thing for the combat system is a counter button. The x button and y button is pretty difficult. The y button should've been the counter like the batman arkham games. on my opinion, spamming the x button doesn't feel right for mirror's edge. Sure, the first one didn't go well but at least they improved it. Just not the right set of buttons. But, who cares? The game is epic. I love the city, environment, and characters. Plus, Faith and Icarus should date.

IMO the game is just the right amount of underrated yet popular where I believe it definitely will get another installment sometime in the future. The original released in late 2008 and we got another one in 2016 when nobody expected it. It's safe to say another one is possible in the future. For now? Maybe not. It didn't sell too well. (I still loved it)

It took me 3 months to finally realize that Faith wasn't actually cool with KrugerSec, right after I finished the story I was so confused on why Faith was still able to fight KSec, until I realized they're not actually on good terms.

It's actually really sad that Cat and Faith didn't like come together in the end. But I see that they are planning a second addition. Also where the hell was Celeste? She was in exordium so I would've expected to see her again. Faith as a character was so much better now. The cutscene where Faith and Dogen are yelling at each other was really emotional and powerful. Also Faith's dreams where she woke up crying, I ended up crying too. Just wished that the ending would've been a bit better in terms of gameplay and story ending.

Faith is chaotic good. Her sister Kate/Cait (< same name, but different... kinda clever), on the other hand, was at opposing ends of the spectrum in each game. In the first, she was an un-corruptable cop. In this one, she's the successor to the game's chief antagonist. Also, that was a damned good hit at 2:50...
I loved the original, and felt the story was a little better in Catalyst, BUT other than that the original is considerably better. In my video review I compare them side-by-side and it's pretty obvious.
How can you be so salty about something someone did when they were 7? Cat, chill, would you? Faith also was hurt with the fact Cat being 'dead', so what's the point? The ending was bad in total, but their talk was the worst part of it.
Ending was odd but not bad. It just left me really empty because I really really wished for something cliche Cat and Faith reunite and the whole Kruger thing goes down and they run to the sun set. But yeah I see that another part is coming or dlc... maybe.
Blame the current trend of wanting things to be "realistic" and "down to earth." Apparently writers think it's dramatic if the big bad guy, after all the hype, turns out to be... just a normal guy.
I expected a big boss fight with Cat at the end like *******spoilerrrr******** they did with Cassie(?) (I think her name was) in the original Mirrors Edge
They had an amazing opportunity to make you parkour across the remnants of the falling building maybe ziplining and jumping from collapsing building to building. Instead it's a cutscene of a shit and disappointing ending that is about as exciting as watching golf.
The ending was so unsatisfying bro literally says everything we've done was for nothing ☠ what kind of an ending is that? Completely disregarding everything that has happened in the game just saying it amounted to nothing ☠ it's not even an ending it literally says we changed nothing but we started something like dawg how about like writing an ending for this game instead of a promotion for an unplanned game ☠
5:50 why the hell was she talking while getting her face punted in. Could they not have fit that exposition anywhere else????? Like she's talking like she's not feeling any pain
Pepsi Snorter yeah, but in the italian version this thing was fixed by the actor who actually speaks like she's in pain (i don't know if this counts for other languages)
Felt like they were setting up a multiple choice ending before the final cutscene? Giving dogen the drive/ saving your sister by not getting rid of reflection or doing what you set out to do and instead they just gave us this ending?
Pretty Sad that the Story Is So Short. Like it took them So Long (I think 8 Years) to Make The Sequel. And i really Want to See Noah somehow Alive again.
REALLY pisses me off. My computer lagged like crazy for all of the cutscenes after shutting off reflection, and it completely destroyed any rewarding feeling of having beaten the game. I basically put in all of that work to have to skip the final cutscenes because I couldn’t view them. Really annoying.
The funny thing about this game is, there isn't a difficulty setting... I'm stuck in the Fly Trap mission so I'm basically screwed for the rest of the story 😂 and I need the story to unlock more areas so I can do more dashes coz that's my fav part of the game - I compete against my friend to get the fastest times, I'm currently ahead in everything, probably not for long because my friend's dad is so good at PS4 and he smoked my time.
I felt kinda disappointed in the ending, like Mass Effect 3. "Nothing happened, really. All that was for nothing. We stopped a virus, but some corrupt empire is runned by my sister. But the explosions were really cool, though!" ...But I did like the missions, really great!
THe first ME was almost believable if you are the absolute best parkour human ever, but ME:C takes it superhuman. Though it does make it seem more exciting I guess
Faith : me save noah Dev : nope Faith : okay finish last boss Dev : regular enemy Faith : okay then me gonna save my sister Dev : nope Faith : me gonna destroy kruger sec Dev : still no Faith : DUDE WHATS WRONG WITH U
OH MY GOD IT IS SO SAD! I think Faith should be like, V.I.P. or something! Her sister is head of K-SEC, so why not help her sister? It would be sad if Faith's sister just forgot about her!
I fee like it’s for the best, cat wont hurt her sister, and the fact that she’s in charge means she can prevent Krugersec from harming Faith, because deep down she knows Faith is telling the truth.
Did anyone played the first Mirror's Edge? Where Faith sister Cat was a police women. How Faith sister was framed for murder by killing some company CEO. How her parents die in a riot and not executed by KrugerSec. This game does not make any sense Best thing is EA and Dice create the same game.
Is this property dead? All DICE has worked on since has been Star Wars: Battlefront II and Battlefield games. I mean, 2016 wasn't that long ago in terms of gaps between new game entries, but still....
"hey, so what do you think that should be the ending?"

Thats true :) But still the game was amazing
I almost thought Faith was gonna fight Kruger himself and he was gonna be like some ninja, but it turns out he was a noob.
Well, she DID fight Isabel..
Yeah... in the cutscene, though... I was kinda expecting like a gameplay... but I guess a cutscene would've been appropriate.
"I'm gonna run" the most cliché thing she could have said.
well she is a runner, so yea.
Not sure if cliché but more so lame/predictable. Still, that's exactly what she does.

One question, how the hell did Faith even get down from the building after the Helicopter Pad collapsed?

Multiple options:
1. Broke glass and found a way down
2. Spotted a grapple point outside and took it
3. Asked Plastic to hack a ride towards her

WAIT YOU ARE SAYING THAT IS THE END?!? PLEASE SAY NO I WILL CRY-
I loved this game, I wish there will be a sequel ^^
this game is beautiful
It's not the only thing that's beautiful ;)
I don't know why final bosses of the most games are so lame. Good final bosses of videogames are endangered.
I liked the game, pretty fun.
They had an amazing opportunity to make you parkour across the remnants of the falling building maybe ziplining and jumping from collapsing building to building. Instead it's a cutscene of a shit and disappointing ending that is about as exciting as watching golf.
What a comparison 😂😂
Yeah she got pretty punched hard there
Felt like they were setting up a multiple choice ending before the final cutscene? Giving dogen the drive/ saving your sister by not getting rid of reflection or doing what you set out to do and instead they just gave us this ending?
The ending didn't give me goosebumps like the first one did
Pretty Sad that the Story Is So Short.
Like it took them So Long (I think 8 Years) to Make The Sequel. And i really Want to See Noah somehow Alive again.
So, They're running with that helicopter bit again. Nice.
i legit cried during finishing this game , this was sad as hell.
I dont get the hate behind this game, this game is amazing in its own right!
And its pretty fun to play too.
I came here because I was playing the game with Gorillaz music in the background and I actually want to see how the game fucking ended.
5 dollars well spent.
I never noticed how faiths eye tattoo resembled the runner symbols
wow ive been running around the city for no reason.....now thats sad 🤧🤧🤦🏽♀️😂
already?!
He had the game weeks before hand.
I wish. I got it on Saturday.
bull shit
Nazi
Mirror's edge 3 coming in 2024 on PS5 and Xbox 2 ^^
Xbox series X and still no mirror's edge
REALLY pisses me off. My computer lagged like crazy for all of the cutscenes after shutting off reflection, and it completely destroyed any rewarding feeling of having beaten the game. I basically put in all of that work to have to skip the final cutscenes because I couldn’t view them. Really annoying.
If they were faithful to the first game this game would be better off
5:49 how I want my tax return to hit me
okay even though the story isnt strong, dice still has a chance to make it better if they make another mirrors edge game
I didin't even realize I beat the game ITS SO SHORT
there another game coming up again derp....
I don't think this would transition smoothly as a prequel to the first game...
Maybe that's because it isn't a prequel to the first game.
Really? I thought it was...
No, they rebooted the franchise. I personally think it was for the better.
I did not upgrade my combat AT ALL through out the entire game, making these guys a PAIN to beat.
That seems like your fault more than anything.
+ur mum well, yeah, I know. If you were not aware, that was my point.
u could just wallclimb turn jump and hard hit on the Window thingys in the Office Room. Jump hits damage sentinels pretty hard
so the name of the final chapter is The Shard ... just like in Mirror's edge 1
the original mirrors edge was better though
But the explosions were really cool, though!"
...But I did like the missions, really great!
I just finished this an hour ago and there is obviously gonna be another one since they "started something they need to finish"
I loved the game, the ending, you guys are being too choosy. It's pretty cool :)
props to you man i have full health upgrade and after countless tries cant beat these guys they fucking attack when your animation locked
This game has nothing on the first one. I actually searched up the ending because I KNEW I wasn't going to finish it. Trust me, I got time too
4:59 how she survived that?!
No way those landings are happening without completely obliterated leg bones 🤷🏻♂️
THe first ME was almost believable if you are the absolute best parkour human ever, but ME:C takes it superhuman. Though it does make it seem more exciting I guess
Faith : me save noah
Dev : nope
Faith : okay finish last boss
Dev : regular enemy
Faith : okay then me gonna save my sister
Dev : nope
Faith : me gonna destroy kruger sec
Dev : still no
Faith : DUDE WHATS WRONG WITH U
This game does not make any sense
Best thing is EA and Dice create the same game.
8:08 how is she going to get down exactly?
Is this property dead? All DICE has worked on since has been Star Wars: Battlefront II and Battlefield games.
I mean, 2016 wasn't that long ago in terms of gaps between new game entries, but still....
Well mirror's edge catalyst was pretty short
What program do you use for recording?
Yo mama
I’ll see myself out
5:17 me when my cat goes missing
finnaly the two things i love in video games: parkour and two girl trying to murder eachother
Still from my first play through and my most recent one, I still have one question.
How’d Faith manage to get out of The Shard?
Her parkour skills are almost super-human, I'm sure she can make it out.
I found the clip of that scene xD : th-cam.com/video/hkDX_sJ14gA/w-d-xo.html
Guy:Submit and you wont be harmed.
Faith:Never!
Me:Faith is a bitch
