Internet should get viewed as a utility and should be accessible to all!
Usually people talk about the dark side of the internet, it nice to see the people who do the good work on the internet.
Great coverage of a fascinating project! 🌐
What about encryption and safety of the data in this open network?
EXCELLENT reporting here! Thank you for this incredibly educational video!
This needs to be done across the entire planet.
The ironic thing about all this is the inspiration is derivative of community internet & intranets in 3rd world countries like Cuba. Props to Ubiquiti and the IT nerds.
I am glad to see NYC Mesh has grown over the years.
they need this in sf . i agree here too 😅
This solution could work as a backup for natural disaster occurrences when wifi is down and no communication is possible through traditional means
Amazing people.
Thats awesome
Nice information
cool "community-led" lights.
linus sight.
When I was unemployed. I went to the library formy internet and employment help. Along with career centers. You get have to think for yourself.
In cuba peopple do the same, but, in his case their suffer internet censors, they made a 9000 pcs network
Access to knowledge and information and means of self informing and learning should be declared a human right
I want to add Starlink with back up power redundancy. Communication is essential during natural disaster and wars
My the only one who thought the guy was saying roughtop instead of rooftop?
wow
👨🏿💻🍿
i splice
Wow they show TP link, like they are a typical isp... When TP link has competing hardware that allows you to create a mesh as well like this one. 😅.... Think they are sponsored by ubiquity.
We use a combination of Mikrotik and Ubiquiti equipment
@@red1994firebirdthank you for everything you do!
HA! It's like CNET never heard of WorldMobile...smh
What that?
This only works coz the earth is flat.
🤣
I knew that even before the dinosaurs
It's great when technicians work for free. Verizon, spectrum, optimum should just stop paying their employees.
Peering. Right, I was wondering how they connect with the internet backbone if they're saying $0 for bandwidth.
