Jeffrey, I feel compelled to tell you that the Betty Griffith Center where you went thrifting is a fund raising store that supports a home for women that are suffering from domestic abuse. I have visited thrift stores that sell for cancer patients, and buy items knowing the money I spend is going to help others. Just thought you would like to know.
They have a store like that here in central california. Their prices are really really good. So when I do go there I load up. They haven't had much merchandise lately. But that's the one place my dad always donates to.
The thing about Saint Augustine is it the oldest city in the U.S. I haven't been there for about 5 years but it is beautiful on the Ocean, the old Spanish fort is great to go through, Old museums, cobblestone streets, grave yard, light house, Spanish architecture , antiques galore, I think you would have really enjoyed it. Its gotten more commercialized but still worth the visit. You and mark were cracking me up with those Barbies.
It's good to know there are other Goodwills in the country that suck as much as ours. We have about 3 short rows of goods and the rest of the store is filled with clothes.
That’s what I usually find in thrift stores around where I live….nothing! I watch videos like Laura Caldwell’s where she finds so many wonderful things - it inspires me to go thrifting! Then the reality of OUR thrift stores reminds me of why I seldom do it anymore. At least they have estate sales around you - we don’t have that. Actually, we need an occasional video like this as a reality check - we can’t always find underpriced items to make money on….sometimes you really have to work to find anything at all!
St. Augustine is really a very small town - population less than 20,000. That doesn’t lend itself to having thrift stores, or secondhand stores - just not a lot of volume available. Because of its long and rich history it caters to tourists who generally are not interested in going to thrift stores, so there’s very little market there for resellers.
The silver metal hanger... You put chicken legs in it upside down put it on a cookie sheet or put it in a bbq it works great so that the skin gets Krispy pretty much it's a chicken leg hanger
Yeah ... one of those "one time" things you might use once and decide it's too much trouble. I sometimes do chicken with skin on in the air fryer and you get a delicious crispy skin and dark meat (legs and thighs) come out delicious.
Jeffrey, your friend Mark is a keeper. He dress's nice right down to his sneakers. Too bad Goodwill was a bust. It's hit or miss with their store's. I went Tuesday and found a beautiful piece of Murano glass for $5! It was half price day . No one else knew what it was and they weren't looking at it so i grabbed it. It cleaned up nice. Take care 💖💖
At time stamp 16:00 you pick up a candle. In the background we’re some Ms Martha African American figurines. If you go back I would be interested in knowing the prices. Might be interested in purchasing them
Still love your video. Have the same issues In my state.trying to find stuff to resell. Maybe if you needed more content for your video add sight seeing I love all parts of Florida have not seen all areas. I would watch just for that as it gives me ideas on where to go next visit. This is only a what if. Please don't take it in a negative way . I don't mean it that way.
Hi Jeffrey and Mark, well at least you got to play with some naked Barbies. Jeffrey, I think you need to get yourself an army uniform 😉🦩 Kisses to Stella 🐕
Maybe mention to Mark to use a softer touch when picking up items , glass baskets shouldnt be grabbed by the handles . His mic might have been turned up , gives me anxiety to hear things clink and clang .
I love St. Augustine it's my favorite city I have been too. I think the reason you did not find anything is because it is a tourist town and the homes there our outrageous in price, so they expect people with money looking to spend it.
Lmao yes, they do it all the time in our area (north FL), they get it confused with the drug since the Miami face eating incident 😂🤣😂 I asked once why they keep beauty, lotion, and bath stuff under lock & key, the lady told me it was because they only sell unopened items, and if they put them on the shelves ppl open/steal them.
The faceless dolls were either made by the Amish, are made to "look to be" Amish. There are Amish communities in Florida, most near Sarasota on the State's West Coast.
Lol, clicked on your video almost as soon as it popped up & while it was loading a notification that your mom posted on Instagram came across the screen. Guess you guys are on the same wavelength. Hope you're not getting monsooned on like we are here in South Florida! ❤️
The greater JAX area has multiple GW's and I have found most of them were much better for shopping. It has been a few years since I have been in that area so not sure of the current condition
Lmao that goodwill is the worst I have ever been to. I’ve gone back several times over the last few years, hoping it was just a fluke/give them another chance, but the last time I went their AC was down and they had “permanently”installed window/space cooling units…. In Florida…. With used clothes and shoes…. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ it was 90 degrees in the store and smelled overwhelmingly like a used jockstrap. I shop at the bins store for reference, and this was 10 times worse than anything I’ve ever smelled in any thrift store. All of the shoes with faux leather body/lining were pilling so bad they were just shedding all over the floor. It was absolutely horrible. I didn’t buy a single thing. Daytona is way better for thrifting.
The dolls with no faces are made by the Amish. The faceless doll has been the subject of debate between the Amish and the Mennonites. The Book of Deuteronomy in the Bible outlaws the making of “graven images,” which means that people cannot create an idol with human features because only God can create humans. Another popular notion is that a doll with a face (especially an attractive one) will make the youngster vain. Vanity is strongly frowned upon in the Amish community. Furthermore, the Amish believe in equality among their community members. Because a faceless doll lacks identity, it cannot be deemed superior to others. However, numerous faceless dolls are now produced to meet the English demand for Amish goods.
Nawwww, that Pyrex, silver plate set is TOTALLY out of the 80s or 90s ... definitely a Macy's purchase. How does that second thrift store stay in business? I can't imagine too many people paying those prices.....
That is an awful Goodwill. I always liked Betty Griffith. Looks like they went "high end". Maybe you should have checked St. Vincent. I always had good luck there.
@@LindaKayHolevas I agree the prices were expensive...but if it was a price that is like an antique mall...and you would pay that price at the antique mall...why not pay that price wherever is my question...
You obviously haven’t been watching for a very long time, lol. Jeff & Aaron broke up over a year ago, or even longer. Jeff moved to Florida, where he bought a house & eventually met Mark. 😊

Actually, most Amish dolls don’t have faces.
was thinking the same thing
Red bowl set that Mark found would have been nice to resell for Christmas and GI Joe dolls can bring decent amounts.
Mark has good taste! Everyone loves a man in uniform. 😉😉😉
We’ve missed you Mark🤣
The black marker on the glass and porcelain pieces, use nail polish remover and voila, comes off like a charm.
Those prices are insane!
Yay always great to see Mark great video

You just saved me a trip! Thanks
When talking about the signs..."These are just like ughh everywhere you look... EFFORT"😂😂 LOLOL I also cant stand any decor w/ words 😵💫
I can’t believe that wedgewood egg was $50. That’s crazy so crazy.
In the UK you can pick up Wedgwood for £1-£5😘

I feel bad for Mark, I think you should have bought him the GI Joe, he looked sad when you left the store.
Mark probably has his
own money. Maybe they were asking too much for it.
Y’all are fun shopping together 😂🤣
Jeffery, what the heck? You used to pretend you were an office worker? I want to know more 😊
You and Mark playing with the Barbie dolls…..😂
Love" your Barbie show! Silly alibis with Mark! Too bad GI Joe wasn't able to attend too 😅
😂
GI Joe had a prior commitment 😂

I have the Sasaki Colorstone in black, gray and blue. They were expensive back in the 1990's when I purchased my sets.

Even though not much to get I, enjoyed.
You two were too funny with the barbie dolls !
I am here for you and your knowledge .
I just love your videos. The humor! 😂
Let’s play Barbies😂. Fun video Jeffery and Mark ❤
Thrift/Antique stores are having inflation issues😂

St. Augustine has some nice thrifts. There is a St. Vincent de Paul there. Also alpha & Omega.

Those prices were nuts!!
My cousin and his wife live in St. Augustine…. It’s supposed to be a great place to live!
I loved playing office and school
The metal rack is a chicken leg griller. Hang the wings between the loops and grill..
The little Amish doll would would have been cute for a Thanksgiving display.
That rack you showed is to cook chicken wings on the grill.
I’m with Jeffrey. Not too crazy about “word art.”

A lot of the "Thrift" stores near me are like that. More like an antique or gift store than a thrift store.
You two are so cuuuuute
That Goodwill was a bust and Betty’s shop is expensive. That’s ok, you’ll find better deals elsewhere next time!
Are there often bath salts in the display cases in Florida? Just curious😂
I’ve never seen any but…🤷🏼♀️
Lmao yes, they do it all the time in our area (north FL), they get it confused with the drug since the Miami face eating incident 😂🤣😂

BUBBI...Mark is gorgeous!!! You're lookin a fine too!!!!!!
You and Mark are SO CUTE 8:38 🥰 ❤
I’ve been to that Goodwill many times! Pretty good deals!
be conscious of the luggage. you might get bed bugs.

You should have went to St. Vincent DePaul further up US 1.
Marvin Gaye!😊
Betty, it’s not Fabrege. 😂
Why are there only twi items in your Ebay store? Do you have a website that we can browse your items?
The greater JAX area has multiple GW's and I have found most of them were much better for shopping. It has been a few years since I have been in that area so not sure of the current condition
Jax def has some of the best stores and prices.
🤔Maybe that store was for donations to something🤷...👍👏😊
I d call this an antique store. Oh Jeffrey, I love your sarky comments. They make me laugh.
The Barbie dolls were so funny!
You two are too much! Lol😂
Watching from Delaware.
The whole time you were shopping, all I could think of was, "What
a bunch of crap!"
How disappointing 😞
All the NE Fl Goodwills are trash. I went to 4 this week and it's very hard to find any good deals.
This was not one of my favorites

YAY!!!!

Looks like a sunny though.
No luck chicken butt 😂
you charged me plenty for my wedgewood. lol
Betty's a little pricey. Betty, you're a thrift store, honey, not an antique store.
The Amish don't put faces on their dolls, it is against their religion.
Next time better. ❣️
Typical goodwill
They’re running off customers with the crazy prices
That is an awful Goodwill. I always liked Betty Griffith. Looks like they went "high end". Maybe you should have checked St. Vincent. I always had good luck there.
The original sasaki was created in 1902
Been there done that
👍👍👍
If you were at an Antique mall would you pay the prices???
The prices at antique stores are less expensive than they were at Betty’s. The fact that it is a thrift store is a little crazy.
@@LindaKayHolevas I agree the prices were expensive...but if it was a price that is like an antique mall...and you would pay that price at the antique mall...why not pay that price wherever is my question...
Why strangle all the stuffies.?omg, I am laughing my silly butt off.
Me too, Virginia 😂
😮
The richer the area the crappie stuff it seems.
Not a rich area
noticed that too. 😮
Better off at the antique stores.....
Sounds like you better be dressing up as a man in uniform for Christmas 😊😉
That was a Amish doll. All their dolls have no faces on them.
Bummer
🥴🤭🥰
That thrift store is not a "thrift" store....
😢
Not much to offer at St. Augustin.
Mark??? Who is Mark ?? What happened to the train guy??
You obviously haven’t been watching for a very long time, lol. Jeff & Aaron broke up over a year ago, or even longer. Jeff moved to Florida, where he bought a house & eventually met Mark. 😊
Goodwills in Florida 👎🏾. Stick to antique shops.
My bf said I seen that guy talking about your bf Does he happen to build model airplanes ?
My bf looked his plane guy up its not Mark
Mark is such a freaking cutie. Lol.
Jefferey you’re one of a kind so beautiful & handsome and funny & actually mark I loved the army man or soldier!! ❤️❤️
I couldn't say it better!!!
Now, I can honestly say that was fun and funny seeing the interplay between you and Mark.
You need to take a trip to Arcadia FL. It is a town full of antique, vintage, and consignment stores.
Amish toys don’t show faces
Not much in this place and not worth filming.
