    Thank you for your help. There is a huge difference between original and aftermarket parts for some Mercedes

      My warm cps will not start but started when it was cold. In fact the construction of the new cps is poor. There is an insert that fell out from the housing for the bolt support. I will now buy a original mb cps… end of story.

    Sweet!! I just ordered a cps and from experience on an M104 knew they hide em on the bellhousing. Where exactly was the guess. Thanks for showing!! New cam ps, new caps, new motor mount all on the way. New plugs n plug wires, oil change, air filters, new upper radiator hose so far.

    Excellent video. I have occasional hot start reluctance, and 150k miles.
    I think I need to check this out!

      Hi mate, it is really easy to check this using a multimeter and replacing is part of preventive maintenance...

    • @BenzAddiction
      @BenzAddiction  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes we miss the distributor caps and Rotors, these can also cause the same symptoms...

      @@BenzAddiction I had good start from cold, but after running for a short while and stopping it was hard to start and very rough. Distributor caps were wet inside. I changed the o rings on the dust covers - no problems since 👍

      Checked mine this morning - 800ohms cold and 950 warm, ambient is about 5*C here so it would get warmer come summer.

    My 1995 W140 S600L vehicle indicates a problem as LH resistance trimming plug on the diagnostic device, but we do not know what it is, I changed the ignition coil, spark plug cable, spark plug air flow meter, my vehicle is still very difficult to start and does not exceed 3,000 rpm. There is a very bad smell of unburned raw fuel. Can you help me?

    • @BenzAddiction
      @BenzAddiction  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi mate, you need to do few checks and stop replacing the parts:
      1. Check fuel pressure. Should be approximately 50 PSI.
      2. Check the coil / coils use multimeter on primary and secondary and see if that matches factory specs.
      3. Check the resistance of the ignition wires.
      4. Make sure the fuel is good and not stale.
      5. Make sure there is no vacuum leaks.
      Come back and update us. All of this can be done for free.

    • @furkansaritas7427
      @furkansaritas7427 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fuel pressure regulator has been changed, pressure has been checked, spark plug cables are normal, new battery, new gasoline, full throttle butterflies are working, I don't understand what you mean by saying there is only vacuum, door vacuums? The vehicle still has the same problems. The lamp and crankshaft sensors may be defective. I will replace them too. If the problem continues, I will also replace the ignition modules. If it still does not work, we will scrap the vehicle.

    I have an intermittent problem one day it runs and starts (hard start) and I can tell it’s firing a bit off. Then the next day it runs at 500 rpm very rough. And has absolutely no power barely moves the car maybe 3-5 mph. Hope it’s an easy fix like this

    • @BenzAddiction
      @BenzAddiction  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, CPS can be the cause. Also check the condition of the distributor caps and rotors.

    A rodent chewed this wire on my 600SEL. I have a replacement OEM. However, I cannot see the location of that sensor because the engine is much bigger. Have you ever had to work on a 600 in the same capacity?

    • @BenzAddiction
      @BenzAddiction  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Caleb, maybe you need to buy a cheap endoscope from Ebay and run it behind the engine and find the sensor. From there you can find the easiest access to run tools to take off the 10mm screw.

      @@BenzAddiction I see!
      Do you know if it’s possible to repair a damaged wire or is it impossible to the get the same resistance if you solder it back together?

    Did your car throw a code for this. Mine had a "crankshaft" code that can clear and also a "ignition system fault" code that will not clear

    • @BenzAddiction
      @BenzAddiction  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had no lights on, I finally replaced the cps but did not improve any thing. I was unable to get any code of the ECU with star C3 or the other one, now has Hesitation mid RPM, I have ordered ignition distributor caps...

    So, i have a 92 500sl. hard start rough idle. have a blink code reader. Tested port 8 it showed DTC # 17 Crankshaft position sensor faulty. Cleared code started car rechecked port 8 DTC #17 again. 2 questions: should I still test with multimeter too? also how in the hell did you route the wire it looks like it goes under the manifold? I can not see how the wire runs.

    • @BenzAddiction
      @BenzAddiction  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, testing the cps is easy with multimeter and you don't need to remove the sensor and is recommended. Other major M119 issue is Distributor caps + Rotors that most people keep replacing them as early as 20k miles, inspect them of there is black sooth inside, they are bad.

    • @rioraton
      @rioraton ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BenzAddiction OK, so i tested it cold 68.5 f on block and it was 845? what do you think

    • @BenzAddiction
      @BenzAddiction  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rioraton I think you have a good CPS, how old are your distributor caps and Rotors?

    • @rioraton
      @rioraton ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BenzAddiction you are CORRECT. What I found out with the car OFF testing port 8 will ALWAYS show a DTC #17. Dont ask why cuz I do not know? You have to test this port with the car running which I did and NO fault codes were detected. Also, if I turn ignition on/off and on/off again THEN start the car it starts right up?? I may have a bad accumulator where the diaphragm is causing me to loose fuel pressure and by re-pressuring the system with on off on off might be why it starts right up? More investigation needs to be done these cars are a REAL pain to trouble shoot??
