Does the starter wire "curl" when fitting the unit? Mine has to bend at an acute shape towards the middle of the engine then back towards the appetite!
Mine turned out to be more "obtuse" I'm kidding. I always say that if I hear either word..I say the opposite. Since I was like 10. I'm 47 now. 🤦♂️🤪..Oh my gosh. My kids are right I'm a manchild or kidult
Not really sure where you are asking about. From recollection I am pretty sure that there is nothing in the cover that the starter shaft goes through. Certainly there wouldn't be a ball bearing. You can get the parts list off the net quite easily, I have taken a quick look and I can't see anything that matches what you are asking, but I recommend that you get them and reassure yourself.
Thanks for the video. They are really helpful when trying to figure out what is wrong with your own bike. I would like to know if there is any washer between the starter pinion and the cover. Mine is making a really weird sound when try to fire up by starters when cold. Maybe the washer is missing. Appreciate your help
Thanks, I'm glad they help. There is a larger washer on the outside of the starter motor gear. It is part number 28109-300--000 Plate, Starting Gear Setting. Perhaps this is the one you mean. Look at a parts diagram you can see it is the last thing that goes onto the shaft before it meets the cover. I hope this helps.
Hello sir great Video, I just start a New project on a CB650. Could you share me the part number of the gear you changed please !? I found different model online I would like to make sure I’ll get the right one.
i like u i think you are great and thankyou for no DOOF DOOF background noise as some of the other righteous bro biker types do. thankyou from kundip western australia
Thanks for the video. I'm about to undertake the same project. You mention the cam tensioner at the end of the video. I didn't notice, but did you have to mess with that when you were removing the motor, or is that a side project? Thanks.
There is a cover over the starter that goes under the cam chain tensioner. I removed the tensioner so that I could remove the cover and get the starter out. It isn't a big deal, two bolts hold it on, then you just need to reset the tensioner when you put it back, but it is a 1 minute job involving turning the engine to the right timing mark, and loosening off the lock nut and and tightening the tensioner bolt. Hope your project goes well.
Hi Juan, is the starter motor is spinning then the problem is likely to be your starter clutch which may need replacing. I hope you get it figured out.
Hi Stephen, I've still got the Bonneville but sadly I recently parted ways with the blue CB750 K0. As much as I loved it, it's gone to a loving new home. Hoping to make this one just as good to ride if not better.
Not a bad idea, I didn't think of it at the time. I will have to look into repairing the old starter, much better than throwing it away. I could make a video of it :)
Thankyou me a little old now for riding but really wish you all the best and meny good days out
Cheers David, that's very kind of you :)

Sorry but I can't remember. I don't think there being any sharp bends. The wiring came off and went back on without any issues.

Hi, sorry I can't find the order for when I got that, so can't check if it had a part number on it. Good luck.
Thanks. Sorry but I can't find the order for that part now, so I can't give you a part number for it.

Surprised you didn't swop out bearings on starter motor it is just a dc motor with bearing each end.
