- Looks like there are 240 Billion Pennies in Waiting to get back in circulation. And if they were back in circulation.. It might just save the penny. Time will tell.

Hey Gabby thanks for helping me get into penny hunting. I found 15 bright red 1955 wheat pennies in a box of pennies. that box also included about 100 other wheat pennies and 30% of the box was copper!
@@californiacgn36 Holy cow... What a box.... Shewwwww... Congratulations
Thanks! Yeah I was all giddy and smiley like a kid in a candy store. That same day I find 6 silver nickels in a box from the same bank. I’m picking up another box of each from the same bank this week. Hoping for the best. Thanks for putting out the videos.
@@jeffdoyon4065 geez! I'll give you a Jackson for the bank name!
@@jeffdoyon4065 man that's so cool... I think 3 maybe 4 silvers in a box is the best I've ever done.
I was checking out the prices for copper pennies on Ebay. I noticed one auction where you can get 20 TONS of copper pennies if anyone is interested. Haha! $107,000.00 + $5 grand for delivery! It's actually a pretty good deal if you do the math. You'd probably need some spare garage space as well. LOL
Holy cow. Can you imagine?? That's a crazy lot of coins
I’m down to save the copper in anything old, but no way I would just hold unopened boxes! Hopefully they just stop making new coinage and the stuff that we already have out circulates for a while that would be cool. The real waste of money when it comes to coin is the excessive production every year in my opinion. And it’s harder and harder to find those old treasures when they keep getting buried by modern junk.
In any case did a nickel box today and found two buffaloes and two silvers so that was cool!
@@jasonsellon4270 great nickel box.... And I do think even if they stop production that the pennies will circulate for several years before the banks finally stay they will no longer take them .. Like my new video says. There are 240 billion just sitting around not being used.
Exactly, I hope you’re right!!! I would love to end up with at least 100 boxes of copper stashed back. That would be sweet!
HARVEY ! I love James Stewart's films. Great actor
Thank you.... I was beginning to think no one was going to say anything... We Just love that movie
13:37 Nooo! Melt the big window piece! Trust me… you’ll have a blast!!!
13:37 was a Canadian penny
@@TwoshedsGabbyyeah the time was a bit off, you had just finished talking about your storm windows. (Obviously not melting the Canadian cent) Knock out the glass and melt the aluminum into a TG coin!
@Tinker_Time007 oh, yeah.... That is a possibility... I have copper and aluminum in my shed just waiting to become bars or something
@@TwoshedsGabby making yourself a custom aluminum or copper or Al bronze drink coaster would be great - make it a wheat reverse or something fun. Another cast you could do is a bowl for your 82s. I know you got your jar, but it’s fun when you’ve got your own stuff. Oooo. A roll-opener would be fun, too!
@Tinker_Time007 I've never done anything like that, I'll have to look into it
Finally!!!!! You mention one positive thing about the penny, I thought you were self defeating
LoL, well I don't mean to be self defeating .. I like my copper hoarding, and my wheat penny collection... And whatever else I find. I even think if they do stop making them. We'll keep looking for them, and finding out treasure as we find it ... Some day we might have to just dig them up from the ground. They've been discontinued in Canada now for 13 years, and our friends up there are still collecting and hoarding
Not just by the weight but by the sound you can tell weather if it's zinc or copper.
@@Bowlingpinjoe yes you can .... I would say. Almost every time, so that's why I usually weigh them
sometimes
@@TwoshedsGabby yeah some have been tricky to my ear
I found a 1961-D DDO last night while Lincoln cent roll hunting.👍😃
Cool beans...
I’ve heard about the Penny ones , I haven’t heard of nickels though. Thanks for sharing. The banks here are already letting you buy a few boxes 😬… 👍
@@notsurewhatscookin8691 good.... And good luck hunting
Im jealous of your wifes lasagna now TSG. Thank you for your content, we appreciate all you do for us and the time you spend editing/filming your videos! Best luck with the rolls, heres to hoping you pull a massive coin next video!!!!! 🎉
That's very kind. And the lasagna is pretty amazing. Thanks for the kind wishes. I have found that if I just keep plugging away, I do consistently find some good stuff.
I thing Pennie’s are safe for awhile. Dimes and quarters save them a bundle. They are much cheaper to make than face value. Last two boxes I found 172 wheats total! Great video as always.
That's amazing, several people have told me recently that they got a huge amount of wheaties.... I hope I score one of those someday.... Congratulations
And it's true, the dimes, quarters, and dollars make money for the mint.
@ I think lots of people cashed in piggy banks to pay for Christmas. Maybe? IDK.
Why is it ok for coin dealers to sell 64 & pre for silver melt but not ok to sell copper pennies for melt?
This seems stupid to me, here is what I found.
Melting silver coins is legal because there aren't many silver coins in circulation, so melting them doesn't affect daily transactions.
Melting pennies and nickels is illegal to prevent people from exploiting the metal in the coins.
Melting coins for personal use, like making jewelry or art, is usually allowed.
I would hold on to the 73s. I put every cent under scope even the zincs. Found some cool stuff like wide am and third lincoln finger on zincs. Do you know how many wheats you have? I keep a diary.😂😂
Wow, a diary, that's intense... I really don't know. LoL
Hope they don’t get rid of any change 😢 and by the way I got my penny mat today thank you and thanks for the bonus 👍 love it now I wait for my nickel mat 😁👍
Oh cool, glad you got it, and thank you. I'd be happy if they didn't stop making any coin.... Well, making less would be a good idea to me. I think they make too much...
You know how the 1950-D nickel is hard to get. Well, my hardest Lincoln cent from the 50's is a 1954. I'm still looking for it.😂
I find them every so often... Contact me through messenger over at Facebook Twosheds coin roll hunting
Low mintage! I dont have a 50 nickel. Plenty of 54 cent.
@davidshettel8330 👍👍
1925! nice!
then at the end it does look like 1919 or 1909!
Thank you
I'm pretty sure it's a 1919, thanks
Really enjoy the videos just out of curiosity how many wheat pennies would you say you have?
@@williampint4322 probably a little over 3000 id guess
@ woah that’s a boat load
@williampint4322 LoL, it's quite a few. But I've spoken with a few people and to them it's a drop in the bucket.. But I still enjoy adding to my collection.
Sir, please watch out. The shelving you showed at the end is not designed to carry the load you show it holding, and it could collapse catastrophically.
If full boxes, I'd definitely be worried. If empty boxes, that looks really cool lol
Thanks for the warning, but those are empty
Thanks, they are empty
Yeah, ironically, you can sometimes lose economies of scale if you maker fewer of an item. In other words, the more you mass produce, the cheaper an item usually gets. I'm not sure they'll get rid of the penny in the next year or two, but they will necessarily get rid of the penny eventually. Just the decline of the U.S. dollar's value pretty much guarantees that. This seems like a really good box to me.
@@veritasfiles Yep, I think that too. The penny is so valueless in our inflated economy. It is sure to go away eventually... We will just have to be more creative in our hunting.
Thanks
Don't think they will totally get rid of hard coins and bills in the next 20 yrs. Many do like the CBDC's. . . I hate the idea!
I hate the idea too . .. goodbye freedom if they do... Even if they stop production of the penny, I think they will circulate and banks will continue to accept them for several years. My thoughts
@@TwoshedsGabby I agree. There are billions from the last 10 years alone. Just make a 50 M a year run out of philly for the next few years as they re-evaluaute.
@@TwoshedsGabby So I just consulted the book and see I should keep 75S and 77S nickels too. Within moments I spot a 77 that looked like an S but I believe it's a filled D
Hey Gabby I got four boxes of pennies from the bank. Three boxes were totally full of new 2024 pennies. Should I hang onto them or look through them for the two or three errors or return them back to the bank? Should I keep them if they’re doing away with the penny.
Well, good question.. I think I would return them. You know I don't spend a lot of time looking for the varieties, so I have to leave that decision up to you.
I wonder if the pennies are being sorted by companies, I just went through a $50 bag of pennies and never got one copper or 2009 or wheat..
There are those machines that separate the coppers from zincs that are widely available, so maybe something like that? 😂
Sometimes when you get bags or customer rolls, you are just getting someone else's dump coins.
I don't think many companies are doing that yet, but there are a few.
Ea one of my kids state quarters books just needs one more. Just pulled a 2009 Guam D out. 42.6 M. Guess I'll build a roll of Bicential's too in case someone wants to buy a roll for $20 from me towards the end of the year.
👍👍👍
Change your listing to - Windows: $25⁰⁰/ea with no questions asked... $40⁰⁰/ea if you have semi-reasonable questions... and $100⁰⁰/ea with nonsense questions or you're a pain in the butt to deal with. >>:=p
That exactly 100 yr old penny was cool to find; imagine if it was minted this date or in Jan even. Oh man, that 58D 🐉💚💚 Let's run that print and see who did that LOL
It's funny how in many of your videos, you're like "I haven't found ... yet", and right after you say that, that thing shows up in the next roll. Roll 2 of every hunt, you should just start saying stuff like "I've went this whole box and haven't even found a civil war indian head" ... oh wait there's an 1865! 🤣
On that 73S, I think it's just the shinyness of it and the ∡ angle of the upright between coin surface and top of numeric surface is making it look like doubling.
@@JadeDragon407 ok, I'm no expert on that stuff. I look at pennies that sell on eBay, saying it's a ddo or something. And honestly, I just don't see it.... Oh well
You are right, several times, just when I say I haven't found something.. there it is!
Like the old johnny Carson days, when he would hold that envelope to his head.... LoL
I want an Indian head penny...
That's what I would love to do with the marketplace stuff. Ugh... So annoying... My wife wonders why I put up with them .
I was selling a car once, and the person said "Can you do better?" Without even to come look at it... I said, yes, I can go up considerably in price. Then I said, oh, you meant better for you.... I never heard from him again.. hahahaha
I have a question, how does the bank know how much to charge you for a bag of dimes? Are those machines that accurate.
They are very close. Recently I have not counted closely, but in the past I did notice that occasionally the machine was off by a coin or two. But they have always been very close. Sometimes I even get a bonus by other coins slipping in.
@@fishinghuntingfool my local coin store has a counter. I was buying some mercury dimes from him. Told him I wanted $20 face. I got $22 face. Of course I told him it was bad wrong. We have been long time friends wouldn’t consider any shananigins. We tested it with newer dimes, it was dead on the money. I wonder how many silver dimes he had given away. Maybe the wear on the dimes was throwing it off?
That '73s looks like machine doubling to me, not a doubled die.
Thank you. Probably so
that one wheat was a 1919 p
Yes, I think you are right
Too much grease in the die for the 1919. For the 1973 the die could be starting to wear. That’s what the 1955 poor man’s doubled die is all about.
@@russellking1924 thank you
Our Bank only sells all coins to business's now. I bought 2 boxes of pennies from my wife's friend bank. So far I only got 4 2024 pennies.
I think I've only found 7 or 8 2024s, . You might have to get another bank account.
@TwoshedsGabby I have a total of 6 now
@TwoshedsGabby I'm using my wife's friends bank
Thanks for sharing
"For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:26 KJV

Looks like machine doubling to me.
👍👍
I told my wife i was going to get 2 boxes of pennies a week and put them under the bed..... she said i could in my new house....
!!!
Hahaha, just start putting them there secretly. LoL

@TwoshedsGabby i have to get creative.....LOL !!
@@stevenmarchessault6254 I hope it goes well....
New box today, completely full of new uncirculated 2020 D pennies 🫤
Sorry.... That's a bummer
@@TwoshedsGabby- no worries, wonder what took so long to get it out to the public.
@jasonstclair1329 that's a good question.... A few years back I considered going to work for brinks just to see what goes on... Part of me wishes I had, but me and jobs just never got along real well. LoL
@@TwoshedsGabby- it makes me think that if that box sat for almost 5 years and was never needed that possibly there’s hundreds of millions of pennies that are just sitting in storage because of a lack of demand therefore, if they quit making pennies for even five years, it wouldn’t matter one bit.
@jasonstclair1329 well it's true. If people would gather up the pennies they have no interest in, and cash them in. We could go for years and years
