- This 1954 documentary short presents the famous Musical Ride of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In a display of brilliant horsemanship, scarlet-coated Mounties take their horses through the many intricate patterns of the Ride, performed to the accompaniment of band music.
A shame the RCMP Band, who are playing the accompaniment, were chopped in '94. The music they use now is atrocious!
This older ride shows the unbelievable precision and superb equitation! A classic!
1stCoGovernorsHorseGuards, CT we did an abbreviated version with 16 horses in the’90’s!
Fine documentary! Nice to see old school RCMP.
My heart glows with Canadian Pride!

Enjoyed this. At
Good document, sir.
Fantastic.
Excellent, well done. Performed at a time when tradition, dedication to excellence, discipline, was respected and looked up to. A look at more recent shows, reveals, that like so many other events, it has been 'dumbed down'' - less skilled and poor choice of music.
What did they sprinkle the field with? I looks like what the fire department sprinkles on the ground at car crash scenes.
