Canada Day Celebration PARADE - RCMP POLICE & MILITARY BAND

- The Canada Day Parade took place after a full day of celebration at Vancouver's Canada Place under the sail, the Jack Poole Plaza and surrounding areas. The 2010 Olympic Cauldron was relit for the occasion. The parade ran along sections of Georgia Street and Burrard Street. The parade was lead by he RCMPCANADA 150 2010 Olympic Cauldron the military and fire fighters as well. Fireworks at 10:30PM in Coal Harbor.
P/.S. The Canada 150 (1867-2017) Canada Day celebration in 2017 will be a two day affair (July 1 and July, 2017) at Canada Place as well. Don't miss it! Video by Ray Van Eng.

My great grandmother came from Edinburgh, Scotland. Her last name was Simpson. Her brother stayed on in Scotland but her and my auntie used to write letters to him back and forth. Most of my family is English though.

Canadians are the best! I love Canadians! I have some good friends up there who I would love to visit and I've been to Toronto once Ottawa Once and Montreal a million times. I always wish I could stay there. It's the hardest country to go back to my miserable USA from. Canada needs to tighten its grip on getting the younger Canadians to know more about Canadian culture. I don't even refer to it as "North America" it sounds blasphemous to Canada. Canada is a whole different country and a whole different thing. It isn't even subtle. I prefer up North. So the question is should I eventually plan on moving to Canada?

Honestly, I agree with Canada not having to adapt to the ways of people from other countries, though I also think it is pretty cool to see said people from other countries love their new home so much as to join its military. But for the most part, I do agree with you.
There are plenty of people from other countries that come and benefit off of Canada, yet can't even put Canada first. It's fine, fractising their culture and everything, but they should also learn to follow Canadian traditions and practises if they're going to live here.

Canada was founded in the Victorian era which is where many of Canada's traditions stem from. You question how it's possible Canadians can be proud while wearing British *style* uniforms as if we haven't been doing it for over a century. The Great War is an example of Canadians proudly serving the empire, there are plenty of songs as well from the war, written by Canadians showing their love for the British.

It's starts of with "In days of yore, from Britain's shore, Wolfe, the dauntless hero, came" which did not make French Canadians too happy. O Canada could I guess have been considered French Canada's de facto anthem before the bilingual version was adopted across the country (O Canada is a French song).

Not really Irish war pipes are similar to the great highland pipes. Bagpipes aren't even originally Scottish.
The Scotii...Picts and Gaels people originally came over from Ireland....we're all Celts.... as in Wales, Cornwall and Brittany in France all play the pipes.

The red coats are worn only for ceremonial purposes. The RCMP is the national police force of Canada. Yes they also ride horses on certain occasions, but when they are on policing duties, they dress like your common police uniform with cruisers. I wonder why you don't say the same thing to Her Majesty's Royal Guards.
The kilts are a part of Scottish tradition for centuries. Pipers and drummers in those bands wear kilts, as well as the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada, a regiment in the Canadian Army. I assure you the "dirt brushes" you call them are not representative of the size of their private parts. The only one who would care about their privates' size would be your ex girlfriend, so watch it.
