- Headstart: Former Philippine Supreme Court Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio believes President Rodrigo Duterte is siding with China because he thinks Chinese President Xi Jin Ping is his "personal protector" against a military coup against him. He believes Duterte's statements on the West Philippine Sea issue constitute a betrayal of public trust.

I was a fan of Duterte. Now, after he made those statements, it became clear to me that Duterte does understand his mandate as the president of the Philippines. He is not a thinker, he is a bully to those that are weaker than him. He cannot comprehend dynamics of foreign policy making. His knowledge is very narrow.

I may not be a well informed person but I have been following all issues on West Philippine Sea. Our presidents stand regarding the issues on West Philippine sea disappoints me. I agree on the points of debates which ret. Antonio Carpio would like to raise and he is right I think our president must think twice or thrice before he delivers his opinions because the issue is not just an issue of a certain municipality but of the country. So he must consider the Filipino people. Many are starving and this ayuda executive order he signed doesn't really benifit all Filipino people only a few it's just a band aid remedy. We are giving our resources to other country and in return we buy it from them at very high price. Many are starving and I am one of them we look up to the government for a more drastic action.
