  • Today I learn about another legend of the game - Zlatan. What shocked me was the amount of teams he played for, and how much he moved around the globe. It also makes me understand why Europeans might have a more international view of the world - because, football. Really enjoyed watching him - he has fun, but is also a "lion" with his mentality. Ibrahimović was born in Malmö, Sweden, on 3 October 1981. He was born to a Muslim Bosniak father, Šefik Ibrahimović, who emigrated to Sweden in 1977, and a Catholic Croat mother, Jurka Gravić, who also emigrated to Sweden, where the couple first met. Ibrahimović began playing football at the age of six, after receiving a pair of football boots.

Good Reaction, as always. At the end, it returned to 2001 when he said "I am Sweden" as for the first time it showed him playing for The National Swedish team and not a club side. He started in Sweden for Malmo then Ajax of Amsterdam then Internationale Milan in The famous Blue and White Stripes then Barcelona then A C Milan (Inter's great rivals ) in the famous Red and White Stripes then France for Paris St. Germain then Manchester United then MLS then A C Milan again. When you said "his return 2011/2012" back to Sweden did not last long it only meant he returned WITH A C Milan to play AGAINST Malmo :)

    Regarding his personal background:
His father is from Bosnia-Herzegowina and his mother from Croatia. He himself was born in Malmö Sweden. But he's defo a Balkan boy by blood and mentality. Also he speaks his mother tongue serbo-croatia when he's around his parents. So his lil accent and his foreign name for sure stood out in between all the Scandinavians he grew up with.

Just adding answers to these as they're coming up.
    Q. Which team does he play for in the Netherlands?
    A. The BIGGEST - Ajax Amsterdam!
    Q. Is that Barcelona? Did he play with Messi?
    A. Yeah, you know the Blaugrana now! He was only at Barca for one season and left mostly because the coach (Guardiola) preferred to play Messi in a central position rather than Ibra. He HATED Guardiola!
    Q. Back to Milan?
    A. Yes but for AC Milano. They are the city rivals of Inter.
    Q. Is that PSG?
    A. Yes. They're not the only team in Paris but they are (now) the biggest and most well funded.
    Q. Parc des Princes?
    A. Not another team. This is the name of PSG's home stadium.
    Q. Man Utd owners?
    A. They are owned by the Glazer family (Americans). I don't really know cars but Chevrolets are sold here.
    Q. Europa League?
    A. It's the second European cup. Not as prestigious as the Champions League but important for the teams in it... I guess.
    Q. Contracts?
    A. It's pretty common for older players to only get one or two year contracts. When he was younger he moved for pretty substantial transfer fees like other players
p.s. He's not a player but I would recommend you reacting to Brian Clough. He is respected in England even today (his peak was in the 70s) because he went to small teams and turned them into champions quickly. There are loads of narration style docs on TH-cam so it will be easier too.

He is definitely one of a kind, both on and off field.
    Edit:
Also, yes, Zlatan moved from club to club a lot in comparison to most successful players. Most likes to stay in one place when success is achieved, Zlatan gets restless and want new to conquer.
While playing for clubs, he also played for Swedish national team, thus the final part of the video. It was a summary of his national career. He is viewed as Swedens best player ever.
The closest allegiance he has is to AC Milan. He currently plays there still.

Half of what makes Zlatan great is his talent, his skills, his physics. And the whole other half is his mindset, he doesn't believe in himself, he knows. He is convinced he can do it, he can handle the situation, he can score, he is the right man at the right position, he doesnt doubt. That comes with a slightly douchy behaviour. But it leads to results. And to awesome results. An other guy might see a ball and come to the conclusion that it is impossible to kick it in a way that leads to the ball landing in the goal, not Zlatan, he believes he can make a shot even if the shot is barely possible. That doesn't always work out, but quite often it does and then we get those impossible Zlatan goals to cheer about.

Zlatan doesn't play politics and will say what is on his mind. That's why you either love him or hate him. He told Pep at Barcelona "You have a Ferrari and you drive it like a Fiat"! I think he has played for a few teams is bc he wants a challenge and to challenge himself. Not many 41 y/o can say that they can still compete at a European level at that age. He does it with work ethic and confidence. MLS was just too easy for him. He didn't get that mental and physical challenge that he can find in Europe. Hense why he is back at AC Milan.

You’re right, this is hardly a documentary. It doesn’t touch on what he achieved in each respective club, or what caused him to move from one to another. That’s where the story lies.
To me, he was always one of the big three - Messi, C. Ronaldo, and him - but he has attributes unique to him: The agility, the spacial awareness, and the ridiculous amount of ways he can score a goal. (One of my favorites of his is his last assist in Manchester United - lots of people thought it was just a stroke of luck, but no, that was intentional… He knows where everything and everyone is, even if he has his back against them/it).
In Sweden, he is by far the best player ever, to the point even where few think anyone is ever going to touch him.
Others have mentioned that his parents are immigrants, and of course, racism exists everywhere in the world, both the overt kind and the more silent kind. So there’s no reason not to believe him when he says he had a hard time coming up through the ranks in Sweden. But he also credits those hardships for making him who he is. I guess you have to be a little crazy to be able to put in the work needed to reach that level.

    Two comments:
    1. You can tell by the team crests on all the jerseys/kits. Since each year, the international club competitions feature about 3/4 of the same teams (i.e. Real, Barca, Liverpool, Man City, Bayern, PSG...), you will normally learn those after 2-3 years by heart, to the point where you can draw the prominent ones from memory. Often, that sponsorship is one of the main sources of revenue for the club (remember they're not owned by a single person like US Football teams). And keep in mind that especially the group stages are on free TV in many countries, so they are quite accessible for Europeans.
    2. It's not uncommon for strikers to move around every couple of years, as the opposing teams will learn how to neutralize you, the referees will know your tricks and also, other teams are often willing to pay more. Zlatan is notorious for his quite physical playstile, often on or beyond the border of the rules (this video way very rose- tinted, imo). The same moving pattern can be seen with Dzeko, Eto'o and others. Contracts are often for about 2-3 years, but clubs are often in favour of renewing them timely if a player is good- and someone else does not pay more.

The only title he lacks is the UEFA Champions League , where the best clubs in Europe settle for the title every year , where Milan has a chance to win after failing to qualify in recent years . Also watch I Am Zlatan where he really shows off his entire register on the pitch.

Footballers rarely play to the end of their contract before switching clubs, but it happens sometimes. The most common way is that another club comes in and buys out the player they want to sign before the contract ends. For example, Barcelona bought Zlatan for about £70 million

You seem like a analytical and observing type which is good as a reactor. Therefore maybe at times you deserve videos with more background which this one lacked. Also you are among the few that keeps reactions honest and you dont get out of character. Well done :) ! It would be fun if you could react on other countries videos about their geography and sites for example. I think that would be a great succes. You have so many good observations as probably a person not knowing much about "soccer". And it was so funny that you didnt catch "egoistic" and thought it was aggresive :) . Also the fact you mentioned the accent above the C was great.. now i had some adult beverages so excuse me for my reaction

The kits have the symbol of the team on the front, on the left side up in the chest were military medals go, but not the name of the team usually.

Ballon D´or (Golden Ball) is the trophy for the best european footballer of the year.
A little backstories about his personality.:
He creates the word "Zlatanera" (Somebody dominates with power),this word made it to the swedish dictonary. In Malmö (His birthplace in Sweden) they made a Statue of him. On the opening day,he invited all schoolkids for the ceremony and give them schoolfree. the Major claims that zlatan hasn´t the power for that.
Last year the Statue was destroy after the news said that zlaten bought the rivaly team.

I didn't like the way they showed the goals in this video. It makes it look way less impressive than it actually was. Zlatan is the most unique goal scorer in football history. He has scored some if the greatest goals of all time. You wouldnt believe all these goals came from the same player. But I don't think he's one of the best players of all time. Maybe top 100

That team at the end was the Swedish national team, not Malmo, the team he started at. He originally retired from the national team but decided to come back (I believe for the most recent euros), but got injured before playing in any major games for Sweden again. He's currently still playing for AC Milan, and yes, that is the second Milan based club he played for, after Inter Milan.
Fun fact: both AC Milan and Inter Milan have the same home stadium that they share. This is very unusual, the only time you'll tend to see this is if a team needs a temporary ground and will share with another team for maybe a season or 2 until they sort out their old stadium/get a new one (eg if a stadium is being renovated and can't be played in, a team might have to share for a season whilst it's being done)

He was saying Egoistic because he knows he has a massive ego. But he backs it up with his football. For example he payed for a page in the los angeles times sayin 'Zlatan has arrived'. Then he came on as a substitute when they where losing for his debut and scored from 40 yards and then scored two more. That is why the commentator is saying "oh come on".

Zlatan just turned age 40!!!! Most other players retire around age 35-36. And then seldom att the top any longer but Zlatan still is a starplayer.. He currently plays topsoccer in Milan, Italy lwho is eading the Serie A att the moment. However he just got back from a injury. Most famous goal is vs England while playing for Sweden from a bicicleta from 40!!! Or the in Ajax going through 5 players and then score.
He is equal to Messi and Ronaldo!

ibra doesn't stay at a club for long but it still has a big impact on them.
I think it was in Paris where he had the most impact because he helped a lot to "create" the club in many aspects (he is very demanding of him and the people around him, there has documentaries which explain that the club's cook ask him for advices, etc),
also last year he transform AC milan team, who was young, talented but lost in a top team

Ibrahimovic is still in A.C. Milan (Italy), at 40 yo. This should be his last season.
He wouldn't left Milan in 2012, he had been sold by the club because of financial issues.
Anyway, he is an arrogant man, but in a positive way. He always has and gives motivation. In the MLS he told his team mates he already has 300 mlns in his bank, so he plays to win, not for money. And this is his way to tell his team mates they have to play better.
