  • In this video, AVR demonstrates the practical application of rock rails and their necessity. The rock rails we have chosen for the review come from a company called White Knuckle Off Road. Let's see if the are up to the task.

    I've had a pair of N-fab steps/nerf bars on my truck the last several years. Finally did some serious off-roading and nearly ripped them off the truck last weekend. Looking forward to upgrading to these attached where they're supposed to be, the frame. Great review, thanks!

    I wish they made them for F150 supercab. The only option on their website is for the supercrew.

    I bought these exact sliders for my '18 wagon because of this video, they are a great product, very well engineered and fit great. A lil expensive but well well well worth it. Best investment I've made so far...

    Good video my man. I just got off the phone with these people and I'm in email contact to order mine for my Toyota 4Runner. Glad you enjoy them.

      I wrote him a nice email earlier today regarding his sliders and wanting to purchase them. Mentioned I do a lot of offroading and post video of my trips and vehicle modifications. Asked if he wouldn't mind me doing a review of his product providing I purchase it. I will subscribe to your channel, hopefully you do the same to mine. You've got some great trails out in CA, here in MA it's harder to find the good stuff, but I still manage lol.

      You F150 doesn't have enough payload capacity for these and all the other shit you haul around.

    Beyond a product review, this is where you'll learn about the technicalities of Rock Rails (aka rock sliders) and watch them get tested and scraped as they leverage 3 tons of truck over unforgiving rocks. Fun to watch on a big screen, the technically proficient AVR team gets down and dirty and right into the action. Pick up some tips and see if the rock rails can help this giant crawl the wicked stuff and keep the truck bed and body free from damage. -JB

    What size tires do you have ? Do you have a lift or level kit?

    • @AdventureVehicleReviews
      @AdventureVehicleReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jesse Hendriks, in this review the truck has no lift and was on 33’ DuraTracs. Now the truck runs 35’s and a Thuren 1.5” suspension lift.

    Great video. Any AEV goodies in the future for the power wagon?

    • @AdventureVehicleReviews
      @AdventureVehicleReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man that would be great. AEV makes some very nice products. Unfortunately, I don't see any AEV mods in this Power Wagons future, but you never know...

    Hm, sometimes the rails got hit when the rocker panels were going to be well clear. Seemed like they got in the way some. I want some that fit in tight like the Wrangler Rubicon

    • @AdventureVehicleReviews
      @AdventureVehicleReviews  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tim Johnson, that’s a good observation. But there have been times the rails truly saved our bacon. It really doesn’t take much to put your truck in a situation where the rocker panels are compromised. There is a company that makes a rock slider that tucks up out of the way as much as possible. They are called Randy Ellis Designs. Good luck!

    • @ayyyota
      @ayyyota 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tim Johnson late reply, but these don’t look angled at all - that’s why you’re seeing that. A few companies offer 15-30 degree sliders, that’s the way to go if you want maximum tuck and clearance

    On the White Knuckle website they advertise these rails in .120" DOM outer rail and a .188" outer rail. What size are the outer rail round tubes your demonstrating in this video. I have a black 2016 PW and want to get the same size you have mounted on this rig.

    • @AdventureVehicleReviews
      @AdventureVehicleReviews  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      .120 is what we run on the PW. Plenty tough for most people's off roads need.

      This was a great review and I appreciate the info. Definitely helps when I get ready to purchase some rock rails for my new PW. Colorado has some great trails with plenty of rocks to crawl and I look forward to doing with some White Knuckle rails.

    Great video great review, say it how it is !! Just wondering where in SoCal did you take your truck I live in Fontana just below Lytal creek. Looks like maybe big bear ??? Been wanting to take it somewhere with someone who knows where to go and a good guide !

      @AdventureVehicleReviews  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ron Dunlap, we’re glad you got something out of the review. Yes, the trail is located in Big Bear and is called Gold Mountain Trail (3N69). Also, there are many 4wd clubs that frequent the trails of Big Bear. That’s always a good way to go. Happy Wheeling!

    None of the obstacles required rock sliders. Those sliders caused a loss of ~3", so you're going to drag on everything now. There are proper sliders that tuck up high...these do not follow that proven design.

    a real rock slider goes from wheel to wheel..doesnt stop 4. inches short like those white knuckles ..the real deal covers from front fender to the rear of that bed front side FLUSH...this guy tells you a hocus pocus excuse that would rub on the bar if you install a bigger tire..

    • @Maximus01776
      @Maximus01776 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Johny Hasen that's not true, you have to have room for bigger tires, it seems you should drive something else than your Prius
