Don Carson, one of the finest preachers ever...he makes everything...even the hard things...so clear. We need this message more & more for all Christians...& me, in retirement years, getting old (& alone, am a very normal man) surely needs to hear this badly.
Many, starving for love and affection (sexual things or the sex is only a part of having a companion...many or most want a wonderful Christian partner.) It is hard for Joseph yes, but hard for all of us at any age. Very, very few saints can withstand all the raging desires and their needs...resisting temptation is not easy for us I do not believe. If it is for any, they are blessed indeed. I read where the sexual instinct in us is the 2nd strongest in mankind...the instinct to live is the 1st.
God help us all who are truly the Lords. Think also that (as the fine preacher Martyn Lloyd-Jones said in several of his sermons) that we have the sins of the flesh, yes, but that is one thing...what about all the other sins that God hates, even if we have grace & strength to overcome these?
We cannot excuse any sin but we must remember too that when we are given grace to put away those that so easily take us down...then we still struggle with others to our deathbed...we repent to our last breath and do not punish yourself over much because of morality issues ....& then dare to think for a second that your pride is less a sin.
Many..."great" preachers do not commit moral sins (as near as we can know) but often with their condemnation of fleshly sin, they carry pride and their worldly positions very high on their list.
Last, as believers in Jesus get along more & more years in the faith, I, for one, find that the fact that I hate sin so much and wish I was more clear of all of it enables me to hope I am, yes, that I am His because an unbeliever will not be crying out for holiness & hate sin........The bad news is I am the more realizing the blackness of this thing we must carry to the last breath.

Ana Kudlack I'm not sure but he may be translating directly from the Greek, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, if not I would bet on the NASB
