Nah we not finna justify that collar. If Paragus had healthy coping skills instead of just killing everything that inconveniences him Broly could’ve been stable. Paragus killed that one saiyan to make sure there was more food for himself and Broly and then wounded that one animal because he didn’t want Broly to have friends or be weak. Broly was out of control because he was raised in the wild by a crazy man. Gohan had similar outbursts. But Gohan had people. Everything Paragus had to do to Broly was a direct consequence of other stuff he had already done to Broly. That was his fault. All of it.

Apparently in the German dub of the OG Bardock special he was actually said to be Bardock’s son. No matter what, the one thing we CAN confirm about him is he’s one of the most enigmatic figures in all of DB as a result of this inconsistency
I too love this franchise a lot. I don't like super but the other 3 I do. If you ask me which of these characters you have mentioned I love the most- I can't decide because I love many of them. But the two characters who are my favorite in the entire 4 parts franchise are Ten-Shin-Han and Chaozu (These are the real Japanese anime names BTW to anyone who doesn't know).
I haven't seen this entire video yet but I don't think the lineage is that complicated to explain. 40 minutes is a bit much for a nearly extinct race. This is not Game of Thrones.
