And then Berlin says, "hey guess what? In the afterlife, its 100% mitochondria for me baby"

This scene explained so much about Palermo and his behaviour through all season. So powerful and beautiful.
This. I think that's a widely overlooked quality of this scene. In only five minutes, it gives a kind of depth to this character that other shows fail to deliver in entire episodes or even seasons. And to me, the most remarkable thing is that for the most part, it is not delivered through the text but through the wordless action we see in this scene. De la Serna is absolutely spectacular here, and I really do hope that he will get recognized with an award or two for his work on this show.

i could literally talk about this scene endlessly but i just want to point out a detail that imo says a lot about the way andres felt; his eyes are filled with tears when he tells martin he loves him and that feels like the last moment of vulnerability he allows himself before he quickly gets his act together. its interesting how he turns around immediately after saying that they have to scrape the plan and he doesnt look at martin when he snaps angrily, while martin is standing there with the most heartbreaking look on his face and the tears he cant seem to stop from falling. i really believe that andres knew he wasnt going to get out of the mint alive (i feel like he didnt even want to) and he didnt want to make martin suffer even more by leading him on, so he pushed him away. still, martin was incredibly devastated and it was heartbreaking to see. i absolutely admire both of these actors for being able to express so many details about their characters even with few words spoken. (rodrigo in this scene is completely mesmerizing, his eyes alone deserve an award of their own)

Also, the best way to end the Berlin and Palermo story. Though, it may foreshadow Palermo's death. :/ Really like Palermo's character development throughout the series.

Mi escena favorita de toda la temporada, al final la mirada de Palermo (Rodrigo de la Serna) dice todo, transmite todo lo que Palermo sintió en ese momento y a donde va a terminar.

So there has been many couples on TV, whether straight or gay, I have never seen one as Berlin×Palermo. It's so real, full of passion, pure love... It makes me actually have real feelings. Really bad they didn't have a happy ending.

Does anyone notice when Berlin pushed him towards wall & kiss him fully... a tear drops from Palermo's eyes, That is so mesmerising, it tells how much Palermo was going through,how passionately he loved Berlin, craved to kiss him & be loved the way he loves him, the tensions between them , I never seen such chemistry in two actors.
In my opinion, no character in this whole show loved another as fiercely as Palermo loved Berlin.
Part of me would be devastated if Palermo dies in season 5, but it feels like those final words Berlin said in this powerful scene would hold no meaning unless we witness Palermo dying, too.
Yea tbh I wanna him to be happy with Helsinki but the words at the end make me feel like he will die. But at the same time why kill him off when he just started to become somewhat happy. It’s a double edged sword AND on top of that they would be killing off all THREE or Helsinki’s relationships being Oslo Nairobi and then Palermo that would be kinda messed up for him and unfair
MaxShade18 That is true, but I’m not so sure about him being happy in these moments. I think this scene just showed him snapping out of this dazed mindset he was in and allowed him to finally admit how messed him he was after losing Berlin. That he’s not an asshole on the inside, but the damage he endured after that loss just messed him up beyond his own comprehension. I find that I don’t necessarily care about him and Helsi being together so much as I want Palermo to have a full-circle moment. That could be that he allows himself to fall in love again (even though I don’t favour that option), or he could turn this entire situation around by saving the whole group either by getting them all out of this mess they’re in or by sacrificing himself in the process. Because if it was just about Palermo moving on and falling in love again, I don’t really understand what the point of including this part of the plot (Berlin reciprocated his feelings) would be. It would do nothing for the plot nor the development of Palermo’s character if he just ended up with Helsi. That’s what I think.

Hello, I am a Spanish girl and I must say that I do not speak English very well and it took me about 15 minutes to fully understand the text and I quite agree with your opinion, but as a Spanish I must say that from the beginning and the way of speaking in Berlin (Pedro Alonso) really seemed sarcastic to me and it really seemed like he was trying to mislead him and try not to laugh at the "cheesy" things that Palermo was saying. and I was surprised to see that nobody (or almost nobody) shares this opinion with me. I am honestly 90% convinced that what Berlin was saying was all sarcastic and cheesy and appreciates a prank on Palermo. I hope you have understood me because I am translating all this in google haha
Rodrigo de la Serna's performance was so good this season
Unfortunately, many of the non-native Spanish speakers miss the thrilling experience of hearing their accents, catalogued in the Hispanic world as among the hottest (Castilian and Argentinian Porteño). That if only adds another dimension of sensuality to this scene. You can hear the dragged laid-back words of Berlin.
This is one of the best scene in la casa de papel, the acting is so great. It leaves me speechless all the time.
Creo que se refería a que estaba enamorado de una forma romántica mas no sexual.
Lo amaba, como él dice eran almas gemelas. No sentía con las mujeres la conexión romántica que sentía con Palermo, pero sexualmente no se sentía atraído hacia los hombres. Y según parece romanticamente no se sentía atraído hacia las mujeres, solo de forma sexual.
Por eso es triste cuando dice: daría lo que fuera por sentir eso

Hay que reconocer el gran trabajo que lleva, que grandes actores son Pedro y Rodrigo, en mi opinión, esta escena es una de las mejores de LCDP4, se nota el profesionalismo de los actores ya que sentí la pasión y el dolor de ese gran beso. Es triste ver a Palermo llorando por Berlín, de hecho yo lloré muchísimo, pero aún así, mis aplausos de pie para todo el equipo involucrado en esta escena.
PD: Deberían subir los bloopers y tomas falsas de esta escena, creo que debió ser bastante entretenido el proceso de grabación y al igual que yo, hay muchos fans que desean verlas, jeje.

A pesar de que Berlín comenta tener una falta de empatía y de sentimientos en general durante toda la serie, en esta escena en particular puedes ver qué esto no es del todo cierto. Realmente no creo que Berlín se aleje porque no pueda recíprocar los sentimientos de Palermo, creo que Berlín se aleja para proteger a Palermo. Él sabe que le queda poco tiempo de vida, y sabe que si atraca la fábrica de moneda no saldrá con vida. Cuando deja de besarle puedes ver que duda antes de hacerlo, porque él quisiera poder estar con Palermo, pero sabe que eso sería demasiado cruel. Sería el sufrimiento más grande que su amigo podría soportar.
Sabe que alejarse de él es la mejor manera de protegerlo, y precisamente porque ama a Palermo debe alejarse de él.
Maravillosa escena y maravillosa actuación de Pedro Alonso y Rodrigo de la Serna. Bravísimos.

@@nicocava7505 His relationship with his wife and how she gets involved in the heist. That's possible. But we don't want Berlin to be regulated to flashbacks. Majority of Season 4 flashbacks could be removed and it won't make a difference.
@@lullaby508 how else will Berlin be on the show? He's dead, he can either be shown in flashbacks or won't be shown at all. It doesn't change anything in the current heist, but it impacts it and works as a prequel to the heist.

Really Rodrigo is one of the best cast of la casa de papel, and Palermo's character is really legendary he's a leader, friend, comedian, lover.! he laugh, he cry, he feel pain, he love, he help, he command he balanced everything...! One of the best character no other characters like Palermo in the show..! His unconditional love for Berlin was really great...!
