I noticed that over the weekend that a number of games on that SBI Detected list have been removed, including Forspoken, Saints Row, Horizon Zero Dawn, Starfield, etc. Any idea why those were removed?

My hypothesis is that Generation Z and younger think the Culture War crap we have been engaging in is cringe. Their politics have not defied any trends or shifted drastically in one direction, but have grown up watching their older siblings and/or parents fight over pointless political nonsense. So when ever it shows up in a game/TV show/movie/music the disengage from that property and move on. They do not have the emotional investment into the franchises being ruined by companies like SBI like older generations do, so it is easy for them to disengage. So what ends up happening is older fans feel betrayed and do not continue supporting their long time favorite franchises and the younger demo's these companies like SBI claim to speak for do not want anything to do with it, because of the added political baggage.

Micro transactions aren't bad if they don't give players an edge. I've bought a lot of dlc content since the PS3 days and don't regret it. Companies got greedy and release unfinished trash games to maximize profit, and those companies should definitely not be supported. Trying to force players to dish out more money on games that are already expensive is how we got here. These companies make conscious decisions to conduct business this way.

Lately the craziness has me revisiting my youth (roughly the 90's up to 2011) and I miss it so much. Recently I started re-watching shows like Avatar the Last Airbender, and it still is a great story with a fantastic characters. I remember when Skyrim came out, I was in college and there were so many gatherings on campus just to watch someone play the game. I truly miss those years, from the amazing stories to everyone getting together to have fun. I would have never guessed things would turn out like this... I want to return to how things used to be, so seeing the general public band together like this is a bit heartwarming. I hope we can one day see great stories again, and enjoy them together.

If you need some concrete proof this is happening consider this: Shortfatotaku uploaded a video where he talks with a person who worked on that nu-Saint's Row reboot. They said during development the studio put together a "Diversity Team" (comprised of all white people, mind you) to filter ideas through. One idea they had was giving the player the ability to strip a downed NPC of their clothes, tying in to their quote "robust character creator". So sounds pretty cool, right? Find new clothes in the world. Well this Diversity Group vetoed the idea because they said, and I quote, "Stripping NPCs of their clothing would be like r*p1ng them"... So you know Starfield? You know how in every Bethesda RPG before Starfield you could strip an NPC of their armor, leaving them in their under wear? Well guess what they don't allow you to do in Starfield anymore. Now imagine they go through this veto process for every single video game mechanic that gets brought up, with equally ridiculous reasons to not include them, even though they were a staple of video games past. This is why video games all feel stale, and gray, and boring, and same-y, and safe.

Barrett, who is black, is a very loving daddy to Marlene, who is white. While it was possible that Barrett’s unseen wife was white and Marlene takes far more after her than Barrett, we learned later that Marlene is not Barrett’s biological daughter. He’s a black man raising a white girl, and you know how many people were upset over that? Not a single one that I’ve ever heard of. No one cared. She is his daughter because he is her daddy, and family doesn’t always require biology. And if you’re playing Rebirth don’t skip the side quest in Under Junon where Rhonda asks you to escort her dog to see her son at the Crow’s Nest area - you get some pretty great, and pretty funny, Barrett commentary on parenting.

The last game I pre-ordered was Cyberpunk 2077, and I’ve learned that you can’t trust a game until it’s out and someone has played it. Mine was For Honor, was told to have a full single player campaign, splitscreen play on campaign and multiplayer. What i got was an online only game with a half length story.

This AAA crash is due to multiple factors, the wokeism is one major factor, but then there is the infinite growth, scope and budgets, but then also abuse of MTXs, Battlepasses and Gatcha as well as immense competition from AA and Indie. On top of that you have AI as well that incentivise the corporations to maximize profits instead of fill actual gaps in the market and support creators. Oh yeah and the buy-outs, mergers and acquisitions, with the necesarry layoffs that come with those as well. I think some people want to connect to a character, but that's different than "identifying" with them based on their skin color or sexual preferences. I feel sorry for people who can't connect with any character besides ones that share their same ethnic/sexual makeup.

I think one key thing to consider is that these studios already have the “typical male gamer” demographic so their investment to outsource companies that can reach diverse groups actually makes a lot of sense. The issue is the shallow approach and execution taken to reach these underrepresented gamers is so laughably out of touch that they compromise each game they touch.
But it really doesn't make sense when they're losing their typical fan base in the hopes of attracting some people who would, lets face it, already be gamers if they were that way inclined. Trying to appeal to a 'new' 10% by pissing off the other 90% just wont work. And thats what we're seeing now. Im a gamer and have friends all over the world, male, female , gay, straight, black, white, hispanic, middle eastern and none of us want this crap in games. As a woman who has played games since I was 5 and am now 35, I have never cared about having "representation" in a video game. Give me a good story, great characters, fun game play, and I'm a happy woman. Kabrutus was on the Side Scrollers Podcast earlier today, along with Yellow Flash and Short Fat Otaku plus someone who worked on the Batman Arkham games. So, I guess you could say we really are all assembling like The Avengers.
As an elder gamer (since the days of Pong) I for certain the best games are those with a strong story and good character development. Many of today's games feature one dimension characters and surface stories. They have nothing on games like Zelda, ME trilogy or Lara Croft. I blame part of it on companies like Sweet baby.
Liked the first 2 fable's. Will not even look at f3's page longer than it takes to add it to my ignore list. Which includes every SBI tainted game on the list.

My hypothesis is that Generation Z and younger think the Culture War crap we have been engaging in is cringe. Their politics have not defied any trends or shifted drastically in one direction, but have grown up watching their older siblings and/or parents fight over pointless political nonsense.
So when ever it shows up in a game/TV show/movie/music the disengage from that property and move on. They do not have the emotional investment into the franchises being ruined by companies like SBI like older generations do, so it is easy for them to disengage.

Micro transactions aren't bad if they don't give players an edge. I've bought a lot of dlc content since the PS3 days and don't regret it. Companies got greedy and release unfinished trash games to maximize profit, and those companies should definitely not be supported. Trying to force players to dish out more money on games that are already expensive is how we got here. These companies make conscious decisions to conduct business this way.

Lately the craziness has me revisiting my youth (roughly the 90's up to 2011) and I miss it so much. Recently I started re-watching shows like Avatar the Last Airbender, and it still is a great story with a fantastic characters. I remember when Skyrim came out, I was in college and there were so many gatherings on campus just to watch someone play the game. I truly miss those years, from the amazing stories to everyone getting together to have fun. I would have never guessed things would turn out like this... I want to return to how things used to be, so seeing the general public band together like this is a bit heartwarming. I hope we can one day see great stories again, and enjoy them together.

I find it funny they blame investors for “infinite growth” and while they do have a point, what they don’t get is that it’s hard to grow when many stop pre-ordering because they don’t trust developers to make good fun games that they will feel happy playing.

Mine was For Honor, was told to have a full single player campaign, splitscreen play on campaign and multiplayer. What i got was an online only game with a half length story.

Major leaders and players in that movement TRIED to, like Mister Metokur, leaders in 4chan/8chan, KIA2 subreddit on Reddit, and others, but they were ALL ignored by the majority of the GG movement because they didn't want to "get involved in politics. We just wanted to be left ALOOOOONE!" The only thing GG managed to do was point it out and cry about it! To an extent that worked in the short term to make game companies reverse course, but it only allowed them to keep doing their subversion in the shadows.
Yet, Metokur tried to make the movement see the bigger picture, that if we didn't completely destroy the cultural opposition, then we were only delaying the inevitable and give gaming a slightly longer time to live. That time is now over, not just for gaming but for ALL entertainment! People STILL don't want to get up and fight these Woke companies! They only want to complain and whine until our favorite medium dies!
How do you propose we make gamers get more involved and actually care more about this WOKE crap to fight back?
The thing is, people are, a lot of these games haven't been able to break even for a while but they keep getting propped up by Blackrock and other massive financial companies
This AAA crash is due to multiple factors, the wokeism is one major factor, but then there is the infinite growth, scope and budgets, but then also abuse of MTXs, Battlepasses and Gatcha as well as immense competition from AA and Indie. On top of that you have AI as well that incentivise the corporations to maximize profits instead of fill actual gaps in the market and support creators. Oh yeah and the buy-outs, mergers and acquisitions, with the necesarry layoffs that come with those as well.
Something this big does not happen due to even just 2 or 3 huge factors, this shit is beyond trifecta.

I think some people want to connect to a character, but that's different than "identifying" with them based on their skin color or sexual preferences. I feel sorry for people who can't connect with any character besides ones that share their same ethnic/sexual makeup.

I think one key thing to consider is that these studios already have the “typical male gamer” demographic so their investment to outsource companies that can reach diverse groups actually makes a lot of sense. The issue is the shallow approach and execution taken to reach these underrepresented gamers is so laughably out of touch that they compromise each game they touch.
But it really doesn't make sense when they're losing their typical fan base in the hopes of attracting some people who would, lets face it, already be gamers if they were that way inclined. Trying to appeal to a 'new' 10% by pissing off the other 90% just wont work. And thats what we're seeing now. Im a gamer and have friends all over the world, male, female , gay, straight, black, white, hispanic, middle eastern and none of us want this crap in games. Gamings largely about escapism, we all get a big dose of realism everyday. Idealistic politics is'nt necessary and if it continues so will the decline in profits for companies pushing this rubbish

The large companies such as Rocksteady need investment money to even produce games. There are only about 3 companies that will loan them money based on their ESG scores. As a woman who has played games since I was 5 and am now 35, I have never cared about having "representation" in a video game. Give me a good story, great characters, fun game play, and I'm a happy woman. If you're worried about a fictional character "representing" you and are desperately in need of validation of your beliefs, sexuality, etc. Please seek counseling. The problem is not others. The problem is internal.

As an elder gamer (since the days of Pong) I for certain the best games are those with a strong story and good character development. Many of today's games feature one dimension characters and surface stories. They have nothing on games like Zelda, ME trilogy or Lara Croft. I blame part of it on companies like Sweet baby.
Liked the first 2 fable's. Will not even look at f3's page longer than it takes to add it to my ignore list. Which includes every SBI tainted game on the list.
