This is a VERY INFORMATIVE video and you are echoing what (Saint) Leonard of Port Maurice said in his book that he wrote in the early-1700's, "The Hidden Treasure: Holy Mass", where he writes about the three different methods of hearing and praying at Mass. I purchased this book back in the 1970'a and read it repeatedly til' I wore it out. I still have it today and I highly recommend it. It is very inspirational!
One other important difference between the pre-55 and the 1962: there are almost always 3 collects in the pre-55 whereas in the 62 there's usually just one with a commemoration here and there. This is important because a lot of people come into the pre-55 with a 62 missal and get lost after the second time they hear the priest say "orémus"
I recently got my St. Andrew Daily Missal 1945 edition. Did I buy the right one? My TLM priest uses the same one. This was a great video! God bless you!
The St. Andrew Daily Missal is great. I actually have my set of it at 1:56 in the video. They were printed before 1955 so they will have the more traditional version of Holy Week and other things as explained in the video.
Agreed. Not sure about this video Plus, I guess if you understand Latin, you won't need a missal to understand the epistle and gospel, but that is not the majority of the people. Once one has used the missal for while, there should be no reason one cannot focus on the Mass and also refer to the missal.
The New Roman Missal by Father Lasance is great and has a lot of extra prayers and such.

Key of Heaven actually can be used as a missal since it contains the ordinary of the mass, and it has gospels and epistles for sunday.
