Thank you so much for this video 😊 I'm 60 years old and have been riding dirt bikes since 1973. Started on a Harley Davidson 65cc mini bike and have had several different dirt bikes over my lifetime. I never rode a street bike because too many car drivers are idiots plain and simple. These past 2 years have been the worst of my life having been diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer and a cancerous nodule in my lung. Horrible radiation treatments and chemotherapy, which made me terribly sick for about a week after each treatment. I breathe through a hole in my neck now. The reason I'm sharing all this gloom and doom is because the doctors told me that I'm a survivor and I should find something to do that made me happy all my life. Well, I took early retirement from a life of long haul trucking and spent a big chunk of my savings on a 2023 Gas Gas TXT trials bike, and just this week I bought a 2024 KTM 150 XC W enduro. I'm an extremely happy 😊 cancer survivor! I don't think this is what the doctors had in mind but I'm happy as can be!! So I feel a little nervous on the bikes but I'm being very careful, riding slow just having fun. I ordered this mapping switch and had no idea how to install it so thank you so much.

So for US version, how to install? ( indeed..the Red PLUG is not on my 2017 500 usa model). I'd like to try this but wondering if lost cause for US models.
Hi guys, question: I've just fitted a map switch (as per your setup) but have found that the kill switch is now touching the clutch reservoir. Do you have it completely away from the reservoir towards the centre of the bars?

does anyone know how to wiring in the dongle into the wiring harness on a Husqvarna 2018 FE450 didn't have the orange plug that accepts the map switch. can't seem to find much about it. but get this switch working. appreciate the help if anyone can point me right. thanks

I don't understand how that switch works. I still understand map 1 and 2, this would go through the ecu but I don't understand the tc (traction control) there are no sensors around the rear wheel that can register anything, how can the tc work then?

Yes, this switch will fit your 2017 KTM 350 EXC-F. It gives you two options; the standard map (map 1) and a secondary map that has greater throttle response (map 2). Plus the addition of two kinds of traction control, that is also switchable on and off.

@@moderatelyokrider I have the 2020 350 EXC-F US version also. The red plug IS behind the headlight mask. It has a removable black cover on it. I'm still trying to figure out if the switch will actually work on the US version. I'm hoping that if it has the plug for the switch it will work.

Can you remove this switch without get any error codes? I only use map 1 and don't use the TC. Thinking about removing it to clean up the handlebar setup...

Changes some settings in you ECU for timing and spark for different power settings, there should a mild, mid and wild if three options, or a mild and wild or trail/race mode.
I do't see the red plug behind my front plate. Could it be under the tank? I have the same bike.
Is yours the US version...if so, yea we dont have that plug...now to find a solution :)
@@elaponte order a wiring harness from europe, and traction control bar switch, then have your ecu unlocked and traction control is already loaded into your ecu and your good to go. Challenge getting a dealer to unlock the ecu:
I have a ktm 450 exc-f six days us and not bring map switch, buy part oem to install but I cannot find the Red wire for the connection on the bike
The US 450/500 EXCs have plastic plugs in the ECU pin positions 28 & 32 where the pigtail that ends in the red plug by the headlight is installed on all models except the US ones. You can wire your own pigtail up and then plug the map switch into this home made wiring "sub-harness". However, without a change in the stock US map the switch will not be recognized by the ECU and will not function. You need to either have the Euro off-road map installed (now no longer possible via US dealers) or purchase the Vortex ECU which reportedly will recognize the map switch.
I had my dealer install the European Map onto my ECU and only the dealer can do this, the switch alone will NOT do ANYTHING for your bike and you will not know the difference.
not for US bikes...they have a different harness except for similar US husky types...they have the plugs
you need the euro map for the switch to work which we dont in the US when bike is new
