    I was also looking at getting some outirggers for my parents' kayaks. Don't want the crossbar either bc would lose space for a crate. Thank you for posting this video as I can see the issues of flexing on the track mount. To prevent the track mounting from flexing so much try sliding the attachment closer to the end of the track where the screws are. currently, you showed it in the middle of the track which will allow the most flex. mahalo🤙

      I was trying to avoid any drilling, but it looks like it is the best option to relocate them. These are solid. My concern is finding a spot that is strong enough on the kayak to handle the pressure and weight.

    My concern is the flex over time and fatigue of the plastic. Thanks for showing the simple install!

      That is my concern too at the moment. Monitoring the connection point closely.

    Would you say that for someone who wanted maximum stability and didn't mind loosing storage space behind the seat, your (don't know the make) first fixed bar/inflatable floats are better than your current 7/10 rating for your Brocraft out riggers? You;d you say that the Brocraft would stop a big water from flipping? Great clear and very useful video, I subbed thanks

      Appreciate the sub. I would go with my previous set up. It is way better than the Brocrafts, but you do sacrifice space.

    How are they doing 10 months later? Is the flexy kayak board cracked or still solid? Thanks

    • @faithandfishinghawaii
      @faithandfishinghawaii  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Still solid because I do take care of my stuff well.

    Just looking at your BW and original cross bar set up, that was getting in the way of you having a crate behind the seat, why didn't you mount the stabiliser to the back of the mounting plate/nearest to the rudder? You could have got a decent crate in ok then? Also the way the cavity tapers towards the back of the BW, it's kinda dead space there anyway. I am thinking of forgetting outriggers with side mounting bars, and going with a long fixed bar/inflatable floats, based on what you said in reply.

      @faithandfishinghawaii  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mounting closer to the center gives the best chance for stability. If the outriggers are close to the end of the kayak, you can easily flip it still.

      @@faithandfishinghawaii Ok, yeah, got you, I suppose its getting on for too far off centre.. Yeah, its a problem, for best stability, you loose cargo space, side arms work, but flex too much, in danger of braking. Maybe modifying/swapping out the hard plastic floats for larger inflatables would improve the stability?

    How are these working out for you? Are you having any issues with the hull flexing? With your old system, did you fabricate it to fit in the trac system or did is it designed to be used with the trac system?

    • @faithandfishinghawaii
      @faithandfishinghawaii  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      These are working great still. The old system need some drilling on the trac system and that was it. I like the sturdiness of the old system though. But I like the fact that this new one does not slow me down that much. Still gives me extra time and support to recover if I am about to tip over.

      @@faithandfishinghawaii I appreciate you getting back to me. I ended up getting some for my Ascend 128X. I had to add a piece of flat bar aluminum to add some strength and stability but they’re working great so far! Thanks for the video!

    I like to see how they handle choppy water

    • @faithandfishinghawaii
      @faithandfishinghawaii  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have used them in choppy water. They are not as good as the big blow-up ones. But they at lest still provide some stability. They do move better in the chop than the blow up ones.

    How are you liking them now?

    • @faithandfishinghawaii
      @faithandfishinghawaii  ปีที่แล้ว

      I use them on every trip. I like the fact that they do provide some stability when I am fighting fish and forgetting to stay center.
      I give it a 7 out of 10. They do free up my space in the back for my cooler, they do provide some stability, and they are well made except for it is weak in the weak connection point. I have a feeling that over time, the connection point may wear out.

      I use old town sportsman discovery 119. I can stand in but it’s a little sketchy. I think these would make my fishing adventures more enjoyable not having to worry about tipping. 😅 do the kayaks not have that problem?
