I have taken the bowling serious for only a month and really just enjoying the process. With the games I could of done better, and the games that get me excited. I'm no pro, but I know of plenty that use pin down depending on the pattern and breakdown. Hell, I've got one myself. It's all about filling gaps in the arsenal. What's the point in having 6 balls that all snap down lane with the same motion?

It reads the lane and starts hooking *earlier* than the pin up, even though everything I've read and everyone I talk to says it shouldn't. So my advice is to try it out with a ball you already have (or have two of) and watch what it does down lane. There's no substitute for experimentation
